Installed today! Thanks for the awesome DIY! Took all of 10 minutes. Hardest part was getting those god-forsaken screw-snaps off. Looks unbelievably good on Taffy White. I'll shoot my car tomorrow when I do the shift boot and post up pix.

Rep in the meantime for the DIY.

Its 7440 for the rear turns - 7443 will fit but our rear turns are not dual circuit so your not gaining any benefit from having 7443 over 7440.

As for the front turns, be VERY careful with 3157 bulbs, our front turns are not wired like a conventional dual circuit and most conventionally wired 3157 LED bulbs will not work(found this out the hard way, blew my hazard fuse and my running lights fuse multiple times until I found out my bulbs were shorting the circuit). Most incandescent 3157s do work though afaik, at least the sylvania 3157 I had worked okay.

From the bulb replacement guide I see our brake lights and our sidemarkers are 7443/7440 but I can't confirm as I haven't looked at them personally.

might be a dumb question but what do you have to be careful about? make sure the bulbs arent 3157leds?

Conventionally wired 3157 LEDs have 4 leads, 2 positive and 2 negative. Our front turn signals are wired with 2 positive but one negative lead. So when you put in a conventionally wired 3157 LED bulbs, the circuit actually shorts across one of the two circuits (hazard or parking lights) and will blow your fuses. I went through about $15-$20 in fuses before I realized this.

I don't know why but 3157 incandescent bulbs do work though, I assume its because they have enough resistance across each bulb to make it okay.

Wow, I know this was said many times in this thread already but I still see people coming up with different light bulb fitments! Why is 3157 fitting for the front (acknowledged that it does fit b/c it worked on a few people)? When the bulb that the civic coupe uses for the front is 3457? Unless they are both the same bulb fitment which is weird? And the rear, according to Sylvania lamp replacement guide, are 7440 for rear TURN signal, and the famous 7443 that everyone talks about here are for our actual tail lights. Sorry if I confused anyone, just had to clear it up.

Okay. i've glanced through this thread and noted at least one other instance of someone asking about the sedan's rear signals. I can answer part of his/her question in that you cannot simply replace the bulb. The sedan's taillights are a bit more complicated than the coupe's in that they have a second set of lenses covering the turn signals behind the outer cover. I'm actually looking to switch mine to amber because they flash red right now but my problem is that lens. It's tinted red which means you can't just swap in an amber bulb. I contacted lightwerkz to see if they might want to attempt to clear the lens but i think they misunderstood my email as meaning i was going to try it myself and let them know how it worked. It was suggested that i bake the taillights and do it myself but i don't want to screw it up. Has anyone tried this yet?

FYI..

i bought the chrome Super white signal lights.. and unfortunately even though they look REALLY good at night when blinking and during the day when they are not blinking..

they are dangerous because you cannot see them blink during the day.. especially when it;s sunny..

so i had to go buy the blue bulbs that flash white.. even though you see the blue through the lens it's better then getting HIT because someone didn't see ur signals..
