lol its just sometimes the glue in the contacts mess up and you have to take the cap off and scrape the glue off and put it back on..takes a couple of minutes, very easy

Care to elaborate? I have one that is dead after I moved it from one vehicle to another and I feel it's the way I handled it a.k.a. jammed that crap in.

Edit: Read the follow up. What's the safest way of getting the cap off?

i just got the screwdriver i used to take the cover off the light and just stick it at the bottom and either pry it up, or twist the screwdriver when its under it and itll come up, one was glued better than the others and the cap bent alittle..but it all went back on. i just got the wire and took it out of the slot it was in and moved it to the side and shoved the cap back on..if you need a DIY with pics let me know. not sure if someone already did it or not..

Did you end up doing the trunk, hood, and glove box light?

yeah, i just got the red ones this week. Depressingly dim. If they were 3X as bright they would be sweet. If you still think red is right for you, go with the dome light only and do some cathodes/leds under the seat. I have red in the trunk too and I cant even see it.

Yes. You only need three: 2 map lights and 1 dome.

take a small screwdriver, pry off the ends and move the wire to the side and put the cap back on. that will fix it.
