would you be able to go behind your fuse box to the wires and tap the DRL wire into the main lowbeam light wire? so that when you turn the low beam off and the drl power cuts out, the power for the low beam now powers the drl? or would that not work..

mine is still holding up just fine as well. recently i had it on for about 2.5 hrs straight on a night drive and it was fine afterwards. i don't have the borg warner resistor though. i have a heavy-duty one from hot-spark. see my previous post (on page 4 i think) for the link.

When I flip my DRL's on for a few minutes my resistor gets really hot and starts to steam. I bought it off hotspark.com, somebody posted a link in one of these pages.

Yea, it gets really hot. It was actually burning the wires that were attached to it. We stuck it in a good spot, but is that really normal?

My hotspark resistor get really hot as well. I think that's normal. I think most, if not all, resistors that you get will get really hot. Mine doesn't steam though. Where did you mount yours? Is it touching anything? I mounted mine on the underside of the metal chassis just to the left of the hood latch. I made sure nothing that wasn't heat resistant was near the resistor.

Mine is mounted to the chassis, in front of the battery...so I think it's fine...it's not touching anything thats not metal.

Hmm...not sure what to say. It shouldn't be steaming. Wonder where it's coming from. Suggest you get another resistor if the steam is coming from the resistor and not an object affected by it. Good luck.

I was also thinking...maybe I overeacted a little...cuz it was pretty cold outside so maybe that's why there was steam coming out...but I could also smell burning so idk...haha
