I get all of my LED's from JP_Warden2002 on ebay (my fav seller).

ANYWAYS.....reading this how to got me excited. I went into my LED supply and pulled out a 1W flank LED bulb 168/194 bulb.

Took my screwdriver and flashlight.........changed the trunk bulb out in about 1 minute flat. Soooooooo much whiter, about the same brightness though. Very happy :)

@JGams, sorry about the UPS ordeal, did you choose the UPS option? Mine were delivered via USPS, no customs fee. UPS is a real jerk when it comes to that (probably fedex and dhl too).

Shit...........Warden_JP2002

I must have dyslexia

He ships from China and ALWAYS undervalues his LED's, so you'd never get hit with brokerage charges. I've made 4 orders with him so far, VERY cheap shipping rates ($1.80 for a pair of LED's normally), and $1 for every item after that.

I don't think it was shipped using USPS, I can't recall what i did, but i followed the instructions as per the website. If I was sure that i wouldn't be charged with the brokerage fee, i would buy from them again.

I may try the Ebay guy if i am in need of anything else! ha.

Nice DIY I found this to be really helpful. I was able to get my license plate LED’s but couldn’t get my trunk, (my trunk needs more light) thanks for the tips.

I was wondering if the 921-x12 Wedge Base LED bulb will fit in the SI trunk lighting? And if it does, do you think this would be bright enough?

I haven't seen what kind of light the 12LED wedge bulbs put out, but i assume they will be bright enough, as they are more than double the light output of the 5LED bulb i put in my trunk.

I say give it a try! They are like $2 from superbrightleds.com, so order a 12LED and then a few others, maybe a 6LED. It's all about personal preference, maybe you won't like how the 12LED lights up your trunk and you'd rather go with a 6LED.

It says in the description that the 921 replaces the 194 wedge bulb, so it should fit.

the number of LEDs is often misleading your best bet is to find a single 3W Creon LED thats side firing, in the mean time i found a kit that uses 12Flux LEDs ona board with a wire that plugs into the wedge, so u can tape it pointing down... right where it should be pointing!
ill post pics tommorrow!

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A WHITE LED! what u get is an LED with an array of chemicals, so that u have different colors mixing to produce white, generally they will have a blueish tint
they are still working on a single chemical to produce white light, but they all produce distinct colors, so in the mean time u get a line of different chemicals that will produce a "white" light lol
