People freak out way too much over light distribution. I think I get blinded on a daily basis by more trucks with halogens than I do cars with HID conversions.

And no, there are no plans for a projector conversion or reflector conversion of any type. The purpose of this system was to increase lighting without tearing the car to pieces.
Once you've gone through normal silverstars, 100 watted halogens, pnp hid kit, HID reflector and hid projectors then someday you'll understand where we come from

i actually went from a P&P kit to a a retrofitted projector kit and know how great it is and looks. However, retrofits can be very difficult to do for the average person OR very expensive to have some do for you. I'm just going to do the P&P kit this time until I can find a retrofit for a good price like I did last time.

Im glad Im not the only one who installed HIDs w/o removing the bumper. I didnt remove the wheels either....I just lifted one side at a time, and turned the wheel all the way to the opposite side, and took the wheel well lining off the passenger side only. Then dirvers side I was able to do by removing the resovoir in front of the battery, and mounting the ballast below it!

You can get the Philips ultra-slim ballasts and bulbs from XenonDepot: http://www.xenondepot.com/category.php?category_id=7

It's definitely not cheap buying each part individually. If you are buying the ballasts separately, then you are better off dishing out an additional $10-20 to buy the full blown 4300K kit that comes with bulbs and a wiring harness as well. Unfortunately, I don't think they have 9006 kits in stock: http://www.xenondepot.com/category.php?category_id=2

You’ll notice if you look around on the net that there are a lot of different HID kit’s out there and you need to find something that fits you. ($199. Or $399.) It all depends. I have a picture with my HID’s 4300K from the seat.

Right. They're using the halogen reflector housing.

i hate to resurrect an old thread, but i saw mention of XenonDepot, and was sure the opinion of their kits. Do you think the kits are good and strong?
i was looking at this one 9006 / HB4 5000k Xtreme HID Conversion Kit XT-5k-9006
they say 9006/Hb4 conversion kit, and they are 5000k. i don't know much about the civic's lighting, only that i don't like it. they are very dim, my previous car, a 91 acura legend had better lighting.

I think just using the factory housing is great! I haven't found any projectors that I like, I really want a smoked chrome/smoked look and I can't find any. So, I just put HIDs into my factory housing. I love em! I got them for $140 bucks. They prolly aren't the best, (they flicker every once in a while but not enough to bug me and me being on a student salary I can't afford the really good ones) I don't have a big cut off, but I actually dont like it when there is. My mother's RX8 had the Factory HIDs and I hated the cut off. I haven't had anyone flash me and I've had mine installed for over 6 months now. 6000K by the way. Any ideas for smoked headlights by the way? (no paint please, want clear lense with smoked reflectors/bezel).
