This is awesome! Best Do It Yourself ever. I have never seen such engineering going into a headlight project before!!

Go big or go home, that's what I always say. And I never pass up a challenge (as if that weren't already painfully obvious)

Wow. Just wow. People that can do this kind of stuff have my admiration. I'd end up with a set of headlights in eleventybillion pieces.

Rep for you, big boi---

Well J-Ro, I'm glad my pic inspired you. Let me know if you still want those other pics.

have you tested theprojectors with the bulbs yet?
You might distort the cutoff line with the bracket where it is.

Yeah, I'd love to have them! The more I think about the "sphere" idea, the more I like it, but I want to see some different angles to make sure I haven't overlooked anything... thanks!
Btw, I wanted to order two or three of those spheres today, but I was busy as hell today, so I'll have to think of something else I need to order so I can tack those on the end

I talked to caveman74 about what a color mod was, and he said that adding washers as spacers where those two little posts are will increase the color at the cutoff, bringing out more blue. He added two #8 washers (so a total thickness of around 0.080 to 0.100 inches, and the cutoff line looked very nice. The thickess of the tabs where you mentioned are about 0.040 inches thick, so the effect will be less.
Was I right on his explanation of the color mod, or did I miss something? If that's not where the washers go, I may have to rethink the bracket.

yeh explanation is good but not all projectors react the same to the washer/color mod.
Actually, 4 washers on each nipple give you a thicker blue colorband above the cutoff line. The thing about doing a washer mod is that the colorband might get distorted and look like a flare on the edges.

Okay, that's good to know. If I end up using the plastic spheres, then the brackets will get redesigned so that they won't be attached to the projectors at all. So in the end, the color mod thing may go out the window.

Also, thanks for the encouragement everyone! You'll have to bear with me on this project... I'm trying to do something I've never done before, so it'll take a while. I'll always keep the first post updated with new developments though

I dont want to be the brunt of bad news.. But there is SLIM to none room for that bracket to fit in the Civic housing. The TSX gives very little room from top to bottom in the reflector. I like how you have done all of the electrical, But my concern is the fitment. I hope you can get it to work!! That will be awesome..

Don't worry...witholding bad news is worse than the bad news itself

I've already test fitted the bracket. It's a tight squeeze, but it does fit. However, that bracket is probably going to disappear anyway, since I'm considering a new idea. Also, since the vast majority of the original reflector will be hidden, I can also cut most of it away. I just need to keep enough to maintain its structural integrity.

*EDIT* Speaking of bad news, I'm going to hold an "engineering review" when I'm done. Basically, I show the final product and everyone looks it over and shoots holes in it looking for problems. That way the design can be tweaked so it's perfect.

I'm probably going to place an order for some stuff for work, so I'll order those plastic balls while I'm at it. I'm anxious to make some headway on this new idea. I'll post some pics when I get some results!

Super wow! Been thinking about how this would be possible, but always toss the idea thinking that it would be too damn hard. Super rep for you! Subscribed!
