Hey I just got my hands on some Lexus RX330 adaptive headlights from a friend of mine and was wondering this exact same thing. The headlight housing seems to have the motors that turn the projectors built in but I wanted to see if there was a way for me to re-use them on my Si. But after reading this thread, it seems I need to be mechanically and electronically inclined to do so.

If you can physically fit the units into the headlights, I think that's 90% of the battle. Getting them to function electronically is just a matter of re-mapping one signal type to another.

I can still help you out though if you want to tackle it.

Cost would probably be $100-150 over a standard retrofit. There's only two motors plus some cheap electronics and wiring. Making it work is the problem..... my big fail was using TSX projectors. They're just too damn big to be able to move in the housing. A projector with less "bulk" around the lens (radially) would work far better.
Sorry for the old quote, but if the size of the projector was the issue, why not go with something smaller like the Bi-xenon Morimoto Mini

i know you've abandoned this project, but do you still work at honda? maybe you could use the 06+ RL adaptive lighting system control module, if not the entire lighting system as a retrofit? i tried googling the part numbers, but nothing's coming up. i'm attempting to piece together information for an adaptive lighting retrofit from an existing set of factory bi-xenon adaptive headlights into a del sol, but i'm having trouble tracking down the part numbers required for the control module (that presumably ties to the steering column), as well as if there's a factory wiring harness and any sensors from the RL. i'm not actually sure if they're integrated into the control module or mounted elsewhere in the car.

i know the way i'm going isn't the same as yours, but the end goal is the same so i thought i'd ask.

FWIW to future visitors to this thread, this is what i've gathered trying to learn about other systems:
-bmw should only require the headlights and all the fixins associated with the adaptive system (bulbs, ballasts, servos, headlight-mounted control module), a footwell-mounted (on the steering column?) control module, and wiring. there's no talk whatsoever of sensors on bimmer forums so i'm assuming the footwell module is where the sensors reside. however it's my understanding that bmw codes all of their electronics to prevent reverse engineering/retrofitting, so unless you can find someone to activate the module for you it's all for naught. i'm currently awaiting authorization to join bimmerretrofit.com to see if the coding is easily defeat-able. we don't stand alone on their front, because bimmer heads all want the newer model's systems
-vw linked their afl system to their central control module. they also mounted the sensors to their suspension. i'm not sure where, but it's possibly more than i'm willing to do to retrofit their system depending where it's mounted. that being said, at least there's websites that list all the parts needed for vw afl retrofits.
-acura rl has a viably usable system, it being honda. i can't find part numbers or lists to confirm though, but will try to contact acura monday to try and get more info.
