advice/tips needed: trying to replace headlight bulbs

Does anyone have any helpful hints on replacing the bulbs on the Sedan headlights? It seems really hard to get to. The 9005's DRLs i was able to change by squeezing my hand through, but the 9006s look like a pain in the ass. Do i have to remove the whole headlight assembly?

Remove the coolant reservoir. Either that (thanks to Bjorn and Tim and the others down in SD for that one) or go through the fender well.

You can look at the first few steps of this: My Civics HID DIY Installation

You only need to remove 2 clips per side and peel the fender liner back. No need to remove the battery.

Remove the wheels. Or turn them to the side and take the wheel liner off. If shows you how in the owners manual.

Best bet is to turn the wheel to the opposite side i.e. if you're replacing the left bulbs, turn the wheel to the right and vice versa. I think taking off the wheel for a simple PnP HID installation is redundant.

It's tricky the first time you do it, but any following times is a cake walk. The hardest one for me to do was the high beam on the driver's side because of that god forsaken coolant resevoir. It was easy to get the bulb in, but trying to get that SOB back into it's "clip" was probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to do on a car in my entire life.

As for the low beams, if you're doing the driver's side, turn the wheel all the way to the right, and take the screw out of the front fender, peel the black shroud back, and reach up inside. It takes a bit of precision, but it's not that hard unless you've got huge arms and hands.

Duuude, I was trying to get it placed correctly for an HOUR when I was down in San Diego to meet up with Bjorn (CustomLightz). That stupid thing pisses me off to no end.

I think that is the hardest part about replacing headlight bulbs on this car, haha.

I was out in the hot sun for a good hour and a half before that thing finally went back in. Haha.

Try being near the Mexico border when you do it for an hour. LOL.

I've never gone that way until that day because I always had to take off the bumper and the headlights for my retrofits.
