hella gen IV ballast ignitor question

wassup dudes and women......
i have a question for all you HID experts. I honestly have been searching like crazy to figure this ish out, but i cant find it......not on this forum, or on the internet......i dont know if im looking in the right place or what......

ok so i acquired some hella gen IV ballasts ignitors and bulbs (D2S) from a chrysler pacifica..........
I plan to do a retro with my fogs, and or low beams in the future......

I think im right when i say its a gen IV because it has separate ignitors from the ballasts.
In the setup in the headlight it had a stock plug that had wires going to the ballast. Then wires going from the ballasts to the high beam halogen 9005 (or whatever bulb it is) and the ignitor for the HID bulb. Ive read mad stuff about how the ballasts and bulbs can be used again for my retro (i think?). Ive looked on ebay and the EXACT same ballasts ignitors and bulbs are going for $200 all together.

What the hell else do I need to convert this setup to my 9006s?!?!

i hope that made sense......cuz i cant figure anything out.
I know i will need a wire harness from the 9006 to the ballast. What confuses me is what the monkey do i do with the rest of it. (wires going from ballast to stock halogen high beam.)

It seems like everything is routed to go through the ballast, then goes their separate ways. some wires to the high beams, some wires to the ignitor.
help me dangnabit....

educate me, cause i know yall know what you're talkin about.

The ballasts can't wire to your halogen highs. You need a D2S to AMP adapter and some 9006 bulbs (if you plan on using them as plug-and-play. And you need a wiring harness.

Hella gen4 is a d1s type of setup. Ebay ones are replicas. I wouldn't worry about the extra wires to the high beams. Leave them disconnected.

Gen III is what I'm going to use for my 2nd oem retrofit setup. So much simpler having the igniter and ballast in one piece.

Honestly, that's a question better asked here... after you've searched, of course.

I'm not at all familiar with the various connectors required.

I think you're mistaking the high beams with the power plugs. those two wires on the far left, black and white are the power plugs. black being neg and white being positive.
those ballasts are not universal and will fit a few projectors only such as the e55 and e46 and possibly the e39.

ah yes, i figured this out once i ripped em apart off the headlight from the pacifica. I have E55 projectors. My final question is (thank the lord), what do I need to hook my 9006's up to the ballast. A wire harness? I started reading all types of stuff over at HIDplanet.com and i got all sorts of confused about switched positive and switched negative and such. I dont want to damage my stock wire harness, or anything else in my car, so whats the best way to go about this?

you have a single filament bulb aka one bulb for low beams unlike other cars that use one bulb for both hi and low beam.
What you need is a 9006 single xenon relay harness such as this one i had

This connects to the stock 9006 female harness:

These connect to the ballasts, in your case, you just cut these two female connectors and wire them to the power wires:

Red wire with terminal will go to the positive side of the battery, Black wire with terminal will be a ground which should be bolted onto the chassis :

And you're done
