HID hum?

I just installed my kit that I bouth off ebay from kasabbian and they seem to have a little humming noise coming from the balllast. Is this normal?

its starts off real loud then it goes down and you can't hear it unless you press your ear against the wheel well. But this is only when the engine is off when it is on, the sounds of it over powers the hum and you don't even notice it. also a good sign is that both of the ballast do it and they sound close to the same.

I thinks its normal, I got my HIDs from the same seller and noticed it from day 1, havent had a problem since

i have the same hids from him. i got 6k. while the ballasts warm up they humm, after they warm up they quit, its normal..... its got something to do with the electricitygoing through it...

all ballasts do it, from OEM car ballasts to flourescent ballasts in your home.

No worries, it's normal. I did an oem retrofit with hella/audi ballasts on my old ek and it made the same hum.
