Help me decide on bulb temp for the HIDs I'm getting for my fogs.

I'm getting HID's for my fogs. Should I get yellow 3000k bulbs or get 4300k to match my headlights?? I'm having a hard time deciding. Here's a pic of my car. Please tell me why you've made your selection. Thanks!

3000K Fogs FTW, functional AND stylish. They do produce a decent amount of glare but if your going PnP HID either way than that shouldn't matter. I got 3000K cause I saw a pic of someone on here with it. Looks boring to me to just have your fogs match your headlights but thats just me.

I'd go for white. I've had yellow and they are only good in fog. White can also help as an additional driving system even when fog is not present. That's why I would choose white over yellow.

5000k ftw but that's my opinion. I had yellow fogs and didn't care for them, switched my low beams from 6000k to 5000k and absolutely love them, perfectly white light projected onto the road, I'm going to switch my fogs and high beams to 5000k for a clean, non-rice look. Again, just my opinion.

I've had both. I prefer 4300K.

I think it depends...

If you plan to use your fog lamps as auxiliary lighting in rain, fog or snow then get bulbs that are 3000K or so. The yellowish color will allow you to have the best visibility in inclement weather. After all they are called "fog" lights for a reason.

But, if you plan to ride around with them on just so you can "look" like a (stylish) dumb-ass, then by all means get a white, blue or purple color.

One other comment, the only thing dumber than driving around with your fog lights on for no real reason, is to stick a HID system in a Fog light reflector. 99% of the fog lamp reflectors out there do not have an adequate reflector design for focusing the light, nor to they have shroud to cut unfocused forward glare.

I love the look of 3000k in the fogs. From a functional standpoint they will serve you best!

You act like its any different with PnP low beams, which are everywhere now... at least fog lights are aimed lower. Also, how many instances are there for people to use their fog lights for better visibility in inclement weather? I used my fogs like 10 days last winter for their functionality, are you telling me I'm dumb because I wanna use my $200 fog lights the other 355 days? Most people only have fog lights for the look anyways.

Most people don't want to put money into performance mods for a variety of reasons and go mainly for looks. I think fog lights are a great addition to any car, especially over a riced out body kit & wing. But hey, I guess they are the stylish dumb-asses aren't they?

wow you have a lot of glare...

if i were you i'd just get halogen 3k bulbs for the fogs. that's what i run and it's more than bright enough. plus i have OEM fogs so they turn on whenever the headlight is on. less glare for oncoming traffic...for now

4300k is a much cleaner look in my opinion. I find that the perfect look is when your fog lights match your headlight color, otherwise, i think it makes the car look cheaper. I know a lot of people prefer the yellow styling, but i'm just not feeling it.

How do you figure??? A couple of cars come stock with yellow. So why would I get pulled over? I wouldn't just drive around with them on for no reason, like some people.

I have 6000k HID's. I plan on getting oem fogs with 6000k bulbs to match headlights.

1. will the bulb for the fog be too strong and burn out the wire of the oem wiring?
