retro fogs vs oem fogs. which is brighter?

whats up fellow 8th gens, so heres my dilema i had oem fogs with 3k hid pnp kit in them any they were pretty damn bright but i decided to get retroed fogs with maxima projectors also with a 3k pnp kit in them with yellow laminx film on top but heres my question which is brighter cause to me the oem setup was brighter but maybe i did something wrong cause i nstalled them myself well please give me some feedback

I could be wrong, but Im pretty sure the brightness is the same. The projectors just focus the light more downward so you have a clean cut-off.

The oem fogs seemed brighter because the reflected light in every direction.

It's possible that what you were seeing as brighter on the OEM fogs was glare caused by putting HID in a non-HID housing.

My fogs need some HID..

Also.. please dont forget that the exposures of each image is different. Correct or is it manual?

^nope. aiming doesnt have to do with it. its the fog light reflector housing and the HID bulb that were never designed to be together.

No, those were all done manually with the same exposure of 1/8th second.

The Lexus IS300 HID fogs has to be my favorite of all time.
love the yellow and the brightness.

now the picture posted earlier, are those the lexus IS fogs? did you the projector from it and retroed it on the fogs of the FG?

They were. I don't know about Lexus offerings now.

They're from the '94-95 ES300. Those years had relatively expensive lighting- projectors for highs, lows, and fogs. And they went away from it after that to cut some of that cost.
