those who did retros

Did you guys have to install or rewire any harnesses, wires or any electrical stuff? Or is it just as easy as installing the headlights and ballasts? I'm thinking of doing one but I have no electrical experience.

are you planning to do the retro yourself?

What exactly are you trying to do? Are you retrofitting these headlights yourself? Are you making the wiring harness yourself?

Save yourself the trouble. If you don't have any experience or know how things work, do it right the first time.

you can find where to do the harness online pretty easily, however, with lack of electrical exp. just be careful

It's only complicated if you've got a bi-xenon retrofit.

Once you get the wire harness planned out the hardest part is soddering the wires together nice and clean. I made 2 wire harnesses for my old ek and the 2nd design worked flawlessly with my oem retrofit. It's really easy. You just need some 12 gauge wire, 1 or 2 relays depending if you want your ballasts on separate electrical systems, some sodder, head shrink tubing, ring connectors, and some conduit wire covers to make it look oem clean. I'm going to begin scouting for parts for my next oem retrofit soon, I suppose I'll post up my info on how to make a wire harness then.

If your doing all on your own you could always buy a D2S kit from XenonDepot.com and save yourself all the headaches of making your own wiring.

nah
single xenon harness needs a relay per side as well as 2 fuses and 14ga wires.
Bixenon needs 3 relays altogether

It's pnp for both the single and bixenon setups.

One plug for each ballast, and one 9006 plug connecting to the 9006 lowbeam connector. One o-terminal going to the positive of the battery, and another o-terminal going to the negative.

THAT"S ALL

For the bixenon, ther would be two more plugs which would connect to another plug part of the bixenon solenoid.

from what i see, the battery has one part where it has a red covering over an end and then an open one. I think the open side is ground or negative, and the red covered one is positive? how would i connect the o terminals to these parts of the battery?
I looked at customlightz website but their 2nd video of the harness installation is not working

Red cap is positive. Lift it then loose the bolt holding the clamp that goes to the car and bolt that oring on the screw
