well i got a problem with my retro

I've had my retro for over a year now with no problems. until last week when the passenger side headlight flickered when i went over a speed bump. then two days later it would go off for couple seconds, and turn back on then off for good. so i popped the hood and checked all the fuses which were all good. but this part that i hooked up the harness to. right between the red and black wire it lights up. when that lights up the bulbs goes off. so when i move it a certain way it stays on so i'm guessing something inside that things isn't touching correctly. blah

Are you trying to show us something? Maybe a ground issue?

check your ballast connections. this sounds like the ballast might just be crapping out on you.

Denso ballast are know for 2 things bad.

1. The clip coming loose and not staying tight
2. Wires inside the silver lining cut and arcing.

I have had a few Denso that arced between the wires. They may have been pinched?

hmmmmm both ballasts? i think i sold you those about a year ago or so. Make sure the connector is tightly secured on the ballast and keep them away from other wires.

Last time I had a problem like that, it was a loose connection in my wiring harness.

With mine only one side went out. It ended up being the ground being loose. Try swapping the ballast to the other side to see if it is a ballast problem.

i have a problem with denso ballasts. both of them. its not my wiring! (i have other ballasts hooked up to teh same relay harness for about a month now and they work fine)

my denso ballasts turn on warm up, after about 20 seconds, they shut off. one did this and then about a week later the other one did this. its kinda weird that they both do teh exact same thing and around the exact same time. but even when hooked up driectly to the battery they do this. sorry for the threadjack....but any input would help.

and to the OP, i cant see pics at work, but it sounds like you just have a loose connection somwhere. your saying you slightly move the wires and it works fine....just find a way to keep the wires in that position.

yea i moved that thing that plug so where it doesnt move as much and its working fine. its that plug not the ballast. when it moves around it turns off the light. and when it turns the light off, it lights a orange redish thing in the plug. could that be a hazard?

what plug? the ignitor that connects to the bulb? or where it plugs into the ballast?

either way, wires glowing red/orange is not a good thing.
