I got the Nokya ones that claim to output the equivalent light of an 80W bulb, but are stamped as 55W on the bulb.
I've had them for a couple months, keep them running whenever my headlights are on, even while sitting still in stop and go traffic every day...no problems as of yet. I was worried about them at first, and did a small temp comparison between them and stock K2 bulbs after leaving them on for 10 minutes parked in my garage. The Nokyas burned slightly hotter (about 30 degrees F hotter), but I don't think it's enough to cause problems. |

Well if it makes you feel any better, stock bulbs burned at about 275 degrees F, Nokyas burned at about 310 degrees F (after being on for 10 minutes with the car parked). On this scale, it's not that big of a difference.
The bulbs I have are labled at 55W, and have caused no problems after two months of heavy usage. My initial post on these bulbs:Aftermarket Bulb Comparisons Just trying to answer your question. |

If you're only worried about your car's wiring being damaged by the excessive wattage, use a wiring harness (you can easily make one with some lose wire and a 12 volt relay). The power for the lights will be taken directly from the battery via any gauge wire you decide to use for your harness, the factory harness will only supply enough power to trip the relay, so you'll be pulling much less power through the factory harness than the factory 55 watt bulbs.
If you're worried about damaging your fog housing, an extra 30 deg F isn't going to melt/burn your housings, but if you're really worried and don't want to take a chance, get a pnp HID (35 watt) kit off ebay, then you can get tru 3000k, less heat from the bulbs, and a wiring harness specifically designed for the H11 bulbs. hope this helps |
