Hey guys im new to retrofits and had a question. I know you use ballasts and projectors from other production cars and put them in our housings, but most production cars use 4300k or something close to that. I was wondering if you could just replace those bulbs with a 8000k bulb or a 6000k bulb now that u have hid ballasts.
That color temperature is all due to the bulb. You can fit a 30,000K bulb if you wanted to. As long as the bulb is compatible to the projector. For example, make sure you use a D2S bulb with a D2S projector, and not a 9006 rebased D2S.
if going through the work to do a retrofit, the best light you can get will be from a 4300 bulb. but if you REALLY just want it a little more blue, then try for a 6k. the higher you go, the less light output you will have.
yeah I know the light output goes down and I know u have to match the bulb to the projector i just wanted to know if u could throw in whatever temp bulbs you wanted. I have and 8000k hid kit now and I love it and if i wanted to go retro i was wondering if i could throw in some 8000k bulbs. thanks guys.
I think what youre asking is if there is a maximum Kelvin temp (limit) that can be used on projectors... the answer is 'no'... ther eis no limit as long as the bulb fits.
