Yellow High Beams

ive seen a lot of people putting in the yellow bulbs for the drl and i think they look nice but i was wondering how they looked at night time, visibility wise (highbeam)?
cause for me, i drive in unlit areas and use my highbeams quite often at night. i want to make sure i wont lose too much visibility by changing them out to yellows.

but i DO want the yellow drl

any input helps, thanks :)

i believe, i may be wrong, but the light bulb works both high and low beam lights
the only way i know that this might work is to have two seperate bulbs

oh the drl is the innermost bulb in the headlamp from the grill. those are the highbeam lights, that light on half way when you dont have your lowbeams on.

Theyre not nearly as bright as the stocks in Highbeam mode. in DRL mode they are totally sexy (probably just as bright as the stocks too)

Then again, theyre yellow so maybe they just dont look bright cause of the colour.

hmm.. thanks for the info, do you have them in your car? i mean i guess as long as theyre still bright enough to be functional and effective that would be good enough to me.

im not driving through unpaved jungles or anything where i need to see every inch of space in front of me, i just drive on an unlit backroad highway after work for about a mile and use my highs cause i cant see too much infront of me for how fast im going.

just debating whether the loss of highbeam vision is worth the sexiness

oh yeah, and to answer you slowroll, the drl bulb IS the highbeam bulb, its just that when you have your regular low beam lights off, the bulb powers on half way. thats why when you start your car and dont turn on any lights, youll see in your instrument panel that the high beam indicator is dimly lit on.

Yea I have them in my car. I guess they're bright enough.
I use them sometimes and I don't mind the brightness as in its sufficient for my needs.

i have them on my car...id say they are pretty bright at night. i can see a lot further up. but i tried to see what my drls looked like with the yellow bulb. and it looked *** as hell. the bulb wasnt even yellow..it was more like orange. since the drls only use so much percent of the high beam.

If you want the pure yellow(not orangelooking) light bulb, you can try the PIAA Ion Yellow. Trust me, they are look pure yellow when running as DRL and bright as hell when you turn the high beam on....

Could just do yellow Lamin-X, YOu can cut it so that it only covers the high beam area. For example around the Orange rings.(si only)

looking at some pics of the luminics bulbs, i think i do like that sorta-orange drl color. its not like amber like the corners, but its not too yellow. it just really reminds me of the jdm integra headlamp, which is my favorite

I want to post pics, but I think I am the only one in the world who doesn't have digital camera. I will borrow my friend's camera to take pics and post them up but it's going to be a few days if you don't mind the wait....
