Post up your HIDs...

If you really want to get some use out of your HIDs, use them as your brights :P

This is a 55w (5x brighter than halogens) 6000k PnP kit off ebay as the high beams with factory halogen low beams (these are not before and after shots, they're low beam/high beam shots):









Here's a video of them warming up (the lights get dimmer after the HIDs fully warm up due to the camera's auto brightness feature) :

ahhh the problem with that is when u go to flick ur lights....
shoulda went with HIR bulbs instead for ur high beams!!!! still get HID like output!

hmm... $60 for HIR (Halogen Infrared Reflecting) bulbs - eBay Motors: TOSHIBA HIR 9011 & 9012 BULBS, THE BRIGHTEST AVAILABLE (item 170197544670 end time Mar-05-08 11:49:00 PST)- that 'may' produce twice the light as normal halogens and also have a decreased life expectancy since your increasing the heat of the filament, or $150 for a true HID kit that produces 5x the light of halogens and are guaranteed to last 3x longer than oem halogens? Tough decision.

The camera tends to show more blue due to its higher wavelength. They are still quite blue tho, but not enough to hinder vision, these things work great.

Ok, so i've been reading a lot of these threads lately and i'm very confused about this whole HID thing. Now, I want to know how many people are using PnP kits in their stock civic reflector housing and are they "blinding people". I know that with a good projector setup like TSX or s2000 the cutoff with be much much beter but also very expensive. So I just wanted to know if it is "good" to just use a PnP in a stock 8th gen civic reflector housing?

When you guys turn on your HID, do you guys here like a click/static coming out of the speakers? Also when you first power it does it start out bright for not even a second and the dims and then starts to heat up and be bright again?

I didnt even ground it. It was just PnP. How am I suppose to ground it?

Mine also a pnp and when I turn on, I didn't hear any static or click coming from the speakers but it starts out bright in less than a second and it dimms and then starts to heat up to a superbright and down to a little dimmer after the lights did one flick and it stays that way. Is it normal or like that? It doesn't bother me, but I just don't want to fry my harnesses. Any comments?
If its the grounding, I attached the plate holder directly to the body of the car. If its not enough, how to find/make a good ground?

well, the bracket is painted (atleast mine was) and thats what grounds it, the bracket that holds the ballast you can try and grind/scrape off the paint and reattatch it to get a better ground.
but deaodi, its a gas bulb, and when you turn them on, it ignites the gas which gives out a bright flash at first, then goes dimmer and brightens up. thats normal next time you see a bmw or something, ask the guy to turn the headlights on for you theirs do the same thing

Turns out that when I had the metal bracket that is screwed to the chassis too tight, thats whats causing it. I've loosen it up a little and everything is fine now. Thanks for the tip.

Just installed Ebay fogs with 4300K HID's and 6000K HID's in the low beams.......also cleared the corners with chrome bulbs installed, yay.

im thinking of installing HIDs .. im more into the projector HID simply cuz i dont beaming all over the place.
if i install HID kit in oem housing.. will i have the same cutoff i have now (oem)?
