I purchased mine off of ebay from http://stores.ebay.com/9898-Car-China. I got the 6000K 50 watt kit ( 5x brighter than factory halogens :P ) for only $205 including shipping. I drive my car 3,700 miles a week and almost always have my HIDs on, I've only had one ballast go bad but he quickly sent a replacement free of charge (the kit comes with a 36 month warranty), I haven't had any problems with the kit since (I've had the kit for almost 4 months now). I'm planning on buying 2 more 50 watt kits (fogs and brights) from him in the near future. Even if the kits go out the day after the warranty is up, I'm gonna buy new kits from him. You can't beat $205 for 3 years worth of HID lighting

www.3bspec.com call and ask for Hahn, tell him Vince sent you. Talk about customer service?! Refunded me $20, and shipped OVERNIGHT on top of it! Had the darn things the very next day!!! I was shocked.

$140.00 shipped, and a GREAT set of lights! I've sold 3 additional sets in the past 2 weeks to buddies of mine

don't buy the 50w.
That will yield to serious glare.

I've seen a few Civics with PnP kit, and I never think there's too much glare. Then again, I've never seen it head-on, so I guess that doesn't count. I will admit my old car was glare city. I lit up signs that really shouldn't have to be lit at all. Glad I got my retros now though.

That is why I got the projector kit, when I had the HIDs installed in my oem headlamps there was a lot of glare (understatement). Now there is virtually none.

The PnP kits on ebay are not designed to work with reflector headlamps since none of them have the strips on the bulbs to less'n the amount of light that causes glare, all the bulbs on ebay are essentually D2S bulbs but with any base you need, this is just a cheap way to produce as much light as possible. (D2R bulbs are for reflector headlamps, D2S bulbs are for projector headlamps). http://www.intellexual.net/hid.html

So if I am switching from regular halogens into HIDs, would I need to buy the whole conversion kit? Or what would I exactly need in order to get HIDs?

so just because you're using one of the most suckiest projectors from an ebay headlight makes you think they can handle 50watts?
You know, each projector is designed for their according optics. That's why not all projectors have the same width, intensity, distance.

This is very true, but the set-up I have atm works for me and they DO handle the 50 watts with no problem. I don't exactly have the money to get a proper retro from customlightz, plus this is my work car so it's more of an experimental vehicle to see what I want to do to my SI whenever I get one, since this car is going to be worthless for trade-in or resale when I'm done with it, I plan on putting 600k miles on it.

You may think these headlights suck (as do I), but they put more than enough light on the road and shoulders and don't blind oncomming traffic.

And please don't dis me just because I decided to use cheap parts, I learn from experience which I'm using to design a new projector assembly to be custom machined, so yes I do know a bit about optics.

tsx can't handle 55w HID's well. They will make the flares more pronounced.
E55's can't handle 55w HID's either.

for once, you're blinding people.
The passanger's side projector is misaligned and is shooting upwards to oncoming traffic.
You have two mountains there. Look at your foreground. And most of all, even with 50w u have no width and hot spots.

im just looking for input on a nice reliable set of HIDs that wont blind or glare out with stock foglamps, so any input is useful to all of us who use HIDs with stock lamps. Im leaning towards the 6000k but a nice well known source. im thinking xenondepot.

You won't escape glare no matter what kit you go with, simple fact of the matter is that the USDM headlights aren't meant for HID reflection. However, in terms of light, you want to be as close to 4300K as possible, this is because it's in optimal viewing temperature for humans.
