Headlight bulbs for '06 civic SI

Hi all,
I'm new to this forum. I recently got my '06 civic SI a month ago. I just got some PIAAs for my low beam headlights and they didn't fit right. They were the 9006 bulbs, but they made the base of it too long so the bulbs won't lock into place. Can anyone give me a suggested brand of ultra whites that will fit, cause I don't want to be buying bulbs online if they're not going to fit right. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I got some Silverstars on eBay and they were about half of the cost that you'd pay at Wal-Mart or Target. They were new and look great. They're much brighter than the stock lights.

those would for sure fit because they are made by the same company as the stock bulbs. Isn't it a pain to get to the bulb on the passenger side. Is there an easier way?

There is no "easy" way to get to those lights, no.

how much do HIDs cost for the SI? I really didn't want to spend too much on headlights. I'd rather spend it on a new CAI

Which PIAA's were they? I am gonna get some GT-X's until I can do a retrofit using TSX projectors, ballasts, and harnesses.

HID retro fits are very dangerous and illegal. They dont reflect the light appropriately and cause hot spots. They blind people. Stick with silverstars or maybe luminics.
Just my .02

No they don't. Do you know what a retrofit is? http://www.vtec.net/forums/one-messa...sage_id=522931
TSX Retrofit. No hot spots. The light is reflected perfectly.

yours are the exception, they look like a well done set up, however MOST are dangerous and ALL are illegal.

Thats not my retro. :gaygiggle I wish it was. Hoping to do the same one though. Lol. Well 90% of the HID's I see are HID "kits." Those do have bad hot spots and reflection is usually horrid.

Very wrong. TSX projector retrofit

Retrofits use OEM projector inside the headlight housing. It will give you same beam-pattern/cut-off whatever the projector you are using. So, if you use TSX, you get some light output as TSX, BMW is BMW, S2k is S2k.

I think you meant aftermarket HID kits, which is not even close to retrofitting OEM projectors. The kits will "reflect" the light poorly and give you hot spot, glare, poor beam-pattern etc.

figi, you're a little bit off on this one. what you're referring to are HID "conversions" which is just someone sticking an HID bulb into their OEM reflector housing. an HID retrofit is when someone takes their OEM headlight housing and puts the HID conversion kit as well as a projector lens in. the projectors are designed for HIDs and thus are not dangerous or illegal.

very illegal . but itlooks great. the easy way to the p/s bulb is through the inner fender liner.............. 2 clips and pull it down (with the car raised)
