High Beam bulb question

whats up everyone im new to this forum and dont really know much about headlights as far as what bulbs will work and such, i recently disabled my drl cuz i cant stand them but i was just looking for yellow highbeam bulbs and i found these http://www.racinglab.com/nohyyeprohal3.html . I figured a yellow look would be pretty sweet. I just wanna know if these will work and if the wattage ( 80) is too high . Also if you have any suggestions for better brands please let me know - thanks

If I were you I'd put the DRL back. If you get in an accident the other person's lawyer is going to use that against you. I can't stand them is a lame reason. They aren't like spinach or something that someone is making you eat that tastes nasty that someone could legitimately make that claim about, they're a safety feature. They just might make the difference of not having an accident too. Would you rather have a wrecked car but the "satisfaction" of knowing something you can't even see from the driver's seat is shut off?

If you get Yellow highbeams, you will become

a fuzz magnet!

Colored headlights are illegal in CT and in 48 other states, and are guaranteed to be a "hey please pull me over, because I would like a ticket" signal.

HID bulbs with a color temperature above 6000K can also give you the same effect!

But, yellow fog lamps are OK!

Because I've jumped off this roof a hundred times without breaking my leg is how I know I'm not going to break my leg when I jump off this time!!! As I said, you don't see them unless you are idling your car just to sit in front of the hood and look at the lights so that reason isn't a very good one. If there was proof they caused a significant increase in operating costs or significant reduction in useful life of the car or similar that would possibly be a reason to reduce one's safety.

I did a little more digging on the headlight color rules in CT. and they are a little ambiguous. On the surface, it would appear that amber or yellow headlights are indeed legal in this state. but a little more digging in the DMV rules state that the headlights must be "US DOT approved". Since the only lamps that are US DOT approved for highway use are white in color, that pretty much ends the argument. But since it is so obtuse, I would think that one could argue that yellow lights are OK, and hope that the DOT issue does not come up.

If you're running with HIDs, who cares what the rest of your lights do? As long as it's not blatantly illegal -- red/blue, it's not like you're not already doing illegal lighting -- yessh.

amber and white are legal...
yellow is illegal in most states according.

From delaware:
Colored Lights - Other than factory-equipped, marker lamps and turn signal lamps, no colored lights are permitted on the front of the vehicle. Such lights are permitted only on emergency vehicles.

yellow is for turning signals/parking brake
