Hella fogs: pics, need help
Alright so I bought the Hella fog lights ("driving lights," sorry) and they are smaller than I expected. Now I can either ghetto rig them up to the stock slots, or I can leave the plastic covers there and mount them behind the grill. I personally didn't think that would look too hot until I got this image cropped up. What do you guys think?
now: ![]() ghetto: ![]() after: ![]() Keep in mind it would be mounted behind the grill. I'm not that good with photoshop... The only thing is this kit came with like a generic wiring kit so it could be used across all vehicles. Can you guys think of any way to get em hooked up to come on with the parking lights or low beams? Maybe I should get them tinted too... heh heh... stealth mode by day, bamf by night. |

Yea I saw those on there for 50 dollars and that is what gave me the idea. I searched around and found them for 20 dollars here, and decided to give em a shot. I'm not at all upset with the purchase. I'm just gonna have to do some custom work. The lights are of very high quality, I'm quite surprised actually.
Blinglights should be shot though for advertising them on the civics. They do not fit in any way or form in those slots. I emailed them when I was thinking of buying them from them at first to ask if the dx/lx/ex set they had would work on the si, and they said it would be perfectly fine. For 20 dollars I'm fine with the purchase. Beats 70 for cheap plastic K2 fogs, and it definitely beats 400 for OEM fogs. |

Some of his bad feedback, this is why i hate ebay, sellers like these sell universal fog lights and say they're made for the car.
Try to get a refund, tell him you saw the pic of a OEM fog light and hopfully he'll give you your money back. Cheap generic item, totally unsuitable. misleading description and photo. Does not fit as advertised without MAJOR rework of fittings. product not close to fitting sent back to seller will not awnser emails BEWARE service was great, product was poor. lots of mods. Lightning owners Beware Poor quality lights, not at all fit for a BMW Mini as adverised. Posted Well Item was not what was pictured. Seller offered refund, no shipping. Lost ovr $10 Fast shipping. Provided installation hardware does not fit specified vehicle. I did not like the lights they shipped me not as adertised as picture shows Sells Low Quality One Size Fits All Parts And Calls It Custom Made For My Vehcle |

Oh, my bad, thought you did :/. $20 aint bad, least you didnt' spend $70 on em. I dunno even if they are good quality i remember seeing some pics w/ em in the fog light spots and the didn't look right.
Even at that i'd say mount em in the fog light spots. |

^I'm looking not to spend 600 dollars... this was a 20 dollar project.
I went ahead and installed them behind the grill. Held up the bumper and took a look... actually better than I thought it would look. Got everything wired up, turned them on, checked em out from 5 feet away, everything was good. My dad pulls in from work as I'm testing them out and complains how blinding they are. I looked at em earlier myself and thought they were fine, no problem at all. When I got out 20 feet away though, these things HURT my eyes. Good God these things are bright, I still see two purple dots an hour later. The farther you go, the brighter they get. Imagine looking into your brights, then multiply that by 2 and you'll have these. Basically imagine looking into the sun and you'll have an idea how bright these are. I did not know there really was a difference between driving lights and fog lights. So I wasted 20 dollars and twelve hours of my life trying to custom fit them to my car. Then 2 more taking them off. I really couldn't be more pissed off right now. Whoever that ebay seller is, I'm going to find him and beat the shit out of him for advertising these as FOG LIGHTS for the CIVIC. Come on... Never would have bought these if it weren't for him giving me the idea. Alrighty... K2 fogs here I come. What I should have done in the first place. I'm going to get an HID PnP kit for my low beams eventually, and some kind of crisp white halogen bulb for the fogs when I get around to doing that. I'm a college student, there is not a chance in the world I'm spending 800+ on retro fitting projectors into my headlights. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

They are too small to fit into the oem slots. Aiming down... no... tried it, if you can see ANY part of the inside of the light, the silver shiny part... ahh... pain! I would feel too bad for other drivers to use these. Not to mention all the tickets I would be stacking. What were you saying about the K2's? Too weak? |
