Fog retro help...LEDS!!

Anyways, I was driving home from work tonight in a rainy day when i see this sexy red audi sr4 and it had LED fog lights... it was a huge horizontal 5-led fog lense on the bumper...
However, I don't have much space in the fog housing BUT i can do the real sexy landrover led break light that you guys see,,,
sort of a hexagon shaped light:
take the board circuit out and change those orange leds to bright yellow making a nice beam...
or should i go another way?
here's the pic of the landrover tail

Ideas? thoughts?
Ciprian where are you man? lol
BTW, Lexusguy thanks for the fog kit man!

lol well i don't like hacking up the fog assembly too much and then to refill it it won't look as smooth as i'd like but if i do a led-retro it'd look sweet

Go with the yellow leds. If not it will look like another parking light.

Dont they make white leds now???

yes they do but i want yellow
I'm still undecided whether i should go for a circle-shaped led or just 4 leds going horizontal

hell yeah! That would look bad ass with yellow, or even just the regular white LED's. Sounds like a hell of a project, but I bet it'll be worth it! Just so long as they dont come out with LED fogs for our cars in the near future

Since the stock housing is oval, Id say go for a circle shape. I think it would look odd to have horizontal lines in the round housing.

Not to really dishearten your spirit but they're just DRL lights and don't function as fog lights if you're talking about the Audi S6. I know there are some LEDs out there that are bright enough that have been fitted as fog lights but just the regular ones like Audi is using will probably not give off enough light to be effective as fogs.

Down in the bottom left is a little blip about the DRLs.

But if you do try to keep with this, according to the picture it looks like you'll have to do some sort of reflector on them, not just on a board like the guy w/ the S2K did. If you do retro from those taillights I'm sure they'll have reflectors already though.

stricker,

use 3 or 5W luxeon stars in a projector, they will put out a good 120lm per bulb. At 5-6 luxeons you are near the output of an h3 at 35W.

Dont use small leds and the land rover idea is ok, but think about the usable light, the projector would give you a uniform cutoff, use your light optics skills from hidplanet to arrange them into a point source.

Is it even legal to have red light at front end? I know in CA it isn't.
