HIDs turn on with high beam

I have this problem where every time I flash someone with my high beams my HIDs come on. I have a PNP kit and I don't understand why this would happen. Is anyone else having this same problem or have any solutions to this?

Your headlights supposed to flash when you high beam someone. It has nothing to do with the HID kit, when you high beam, it also turns on your low beams. That's one of the reasons i don't have HID's. It will also flash when your alarm turns on (panic)

lol yeah it's normal

I was flashing my friend for fun one day while he was driving in front of me, and he said both my headlights turned on. I confirmed it by having him flash the high beams at me while I was standing in front of the car.

Really? Thats news to me. God i love this car, it just keeps gettin better. Like on most cars when you hit the high beams the lows turn off for some unknown reason.

get a relay harness with a diode that way when u flash someone ur hi-beams will be on for half a min to a min putting less stress on the hid bulbs/ballasts

I thought it was law to have the lows turn off when the highs are on. Maybe flashing does not count?
I know that fogs are supposed to turn off when highs are on...

no it's not...
flashing or when u even turn on your hi beams ur lows will stay on which is what happens when headlights have 2 separate sections one for low one for high

The law mandates that on the road, you can't have more than 2 sets of lights on at a time. For our cars, if we turn on our high beams, our fog lights turn off. That's how it is for those with the OEM fog lights. For me however, i can have the highs/lows/fogs on all at the same time. (after market kit) Some cars are actually the opposite, where the fogs stay on and the lows turn off. I think Honda chose the better route by keeping the lows on over the fogs.

The same way people get away with modified exhaust systems and tint where it doesn't belong. Most cops will not care unless they pull them over for something else, or it happens to be significantly noticeable.
