HID PnP Kit...spacer for stock=no glare?

So I was thinking the other day: "Why do HID kits cause glare?"

It's because the lumination point for the stock housing is different than the stock bulbs, causing the beam angles to be different and thus shoot more of the bright light up into the traffic's eyes.

So what could solve this? (I asked myself...)

A piece of metal or plastic that would move the HID bulb lumination point backward so it more closely lines up with the stock Halogen point.

My only question is: Is such a thing made? Surely someone else has thought of this before me...right? And if it exists...who sells it?

---
This would solve a lot of problems out there for a lot of people that not only want to upgrade their lighting systems, but for those of us not able to purchase projections systems and want to stick with stock housings. Thanks everyone!!!!

They are called Casper Shields. They only make them for the H4. But that is what you need to direct the light up. Look at a reflective HID in a Lexus or the Maxima.

right, but the casper shields (from casper electronics, originators of the electronic o2 sim) fit into an h4 slot, and effectively prevents the hid from shining light where the hi-beam filament would normally rest in an h4. H4's have a horrible pnp glare problem because half the reflector is used for the high beam... I have never heard of the the effect of using it on anything other than an h4 reflector

everyone is promoting a shield, but no one has responded to my initial post idea:
a spacer for the bottom of the HID bulb so that there is less glare because the light emission points are at similar spots in the housing. Does this sort of thing exist??? And if so, where can get get some so we can all save some lives and eyes of on-coming traffic :)

How much of a spacer would you need? It's a decent idea, but you'd need to do some calculation and comparison between HID and halogen bulbs. And even after properly spacing the bulb, you'd still have to deal with the fact that reflective lights throw light above the cutoff as a function of their design. High intensity lighting just amplifies this and makes what may have been a minor, acceptable amount of light into unsafe glare.

if you mess with the spacing there will be more glare since the optics that are designed for reflectors will be out of focus thus creating more glare

it has glare because the housing is made that way, it even has glare with the halogen setup... PNP is ok in the civic.
