06 K2 fogs: switch
I think I'm going to buy these off of ebay soon but I don't understand how the switch will fit into that area.
Look at the picture My car has the mirror adjuster there and there is not a chance in the world the little adapter they include will fit in there. Maybe that's the switch for the sedan? I know the sedans have the mirror thing on the door. Also, how difficult is it to install these things ourselves? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

If I'm not mistaken, that's just a generic picture of a harness. The K2 Motor Fogs for the 2006+ Civic will wire directly into the car and operate with the DRLs or headlights, so there's no switch needed.
This is my guess since my friend has this kit.

I just installed these this weekend on my 07' fg2. What i did was put the new fog light switch in the spot where the VSA switch was and i routed the VSA switch into the little tray just below the panel were the mirror switch's and VSA switche is. The tray, when you pull the dash apart is a perfect place to install the vsa switch. I put it there because i never use the VSA i just needed to be able to get to it so i could turn it off. I'm going to do a DIY for people who need to install these ebay fogs on their 07's and dont want to buy the light stalk from honda and spend a ton of money. I'll keep u guys updated.

there should be a slot there for it. it has a plasctic cover that you need to remove to add the button.

if you look at the switch on K2's auction, it shows the switch, and then 2 empty panel things that make up what looks to be 3 switch slots.
This is because the DX models do not have power windows, so for DX owners, they would need to replace the whole thing in their dash, and this would cover up the holes left behind if they install fogs. For all the other owners, the switch in their auction link, as other have said already, just pops out of the DX "triple slot piece" and slides right into the empty peice on your existing dash. You can see the slot for it right beside the power window button, all you have to do is pop it out once you have the dash off. Gluck! |

ok here is how you do it. You follow the install as normal. when you get to the point when you have a choice to either put the new switch in the VSA spot what you do is take out the VSA switch and put the included k2 switch in the VSA spot. There is a little tray below the VSA switch and mirror adjustment panel. This tray (when you take the panels apart to install the harness) is where I retroed the VSA switch. I ran the VSA through from behind the dash and into that little tray. I did this because all I use the VSA for is the rain. So when I turn my headlights on my fogs come on and all I have to do is reach down and tap the VSA off every time I start the car. I will be doing a diy soon on how to do this.

i have an 07 with the k2.. and i just kept the VSA switch where it was.. and turned the foglights on by pressing the switch, then left the switch in the dash.
so when i lock/unlock the car the foglights blink with everything else, and when i turn my lights on the fogs automatically come on. i wouldnt have it anyother way! |

On another note, how mutch does the stalk for the '07 cost, and how hard would it be to install? Why do you all not use VSA all the time. I turn it off if I'm drag racing, but that's about it. It helps in other situations besides rain, and snow. It also helps if you lose control in a curve. I've felt it before, saved my ass! |
