PIAA bulb installation problem for 07 Cvc Hybrid

Hello all,

I have a lame question but I hope you may help me. Just bought an 07 Civic Hybrid and I bought the PIAA xtreme white plus bulbs HB3-9005 and HB4-9006 bulbs to replace the stock bulbs.

Problem is that I can't seem to make the replacement bulbs fit into the bulb socket. Any ideas here? I know the parts are the correct ones. I examined the PIAAs and the stock bulbs and there's a minor difference (the base of the PIAA bulbs seem a bit thicker than the stock bulbs.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you in advance for any ideas that may help.

Cheers

buying PIAA's and wasting 80 bucks on a product that any ebay junk bulb can outperform is what's wrong...

Its the Honda headlight assembly that is tight and the root of the problem

Everyone seems to have problems getting both low and high beam bulbs in the reflector assembly. The issue is that the hole tolerances on the reflector are extremely tight.

Here are some tricks I use.

-Shrink the bulb, and stretch the reflector - Stick the bulbs in the freezer. When they are cold, the metal base shrinks and makes the bulb base slightly smaller. Conversely, switch out the bulb when the car is hot. When it is hot, the reflector assembly lamp holes will be slightly larger. A bigger hole and smaller shaft makes it easier to slide in.

- Lube up the base of your lamp shaft - Dab some silicone lubricant or lithium grease on the base of the lamp, the part that has the alignment tangs. Just a dab will do ya, and be very careful that you don't get any lube on the bulb.

- tiny fingers work miracles - First twist the bulb into place as much as you can by hand. This is usually 98% of the way there, but the bulb gets stuck on the spring retaining clip. Next get a small flat bladed Jewelers screwdriver and use its tip to push against the bulb base blade that is at the top with the reflector spring clip into the final position. When you hear the clip click, you are done.
