H11 Fog Light Bulb - Options

Ok, so I purchased my 6000k HID kit and its on the way. I started doing some research on lighting for my oem fogs; I want the fogs to blend well with my new HID's. Originally I was going to HID the fogs also but I have moved away from this idea in an attempt to save time and money. So here are the different options I came across:

1) White Fogs:
a) E-bay V-LEDS WHITE HIGH POWER - $37.00
http://home.comcast.net/~velocityusa/H11GAL.jpg
b) PIAA H11 XTREME WHITE PLUS BULB - $63.00
http://72.32.25.195/ebay/15211.jpg
c) PIAA TERA 6000K Ultra White LED - $100
http://i19.ebayimg.com/03/i/000/9c/79/6448_1_b.JPG

2) Yellow Fogs:
a) H11 Luminics JDM Yellow Foglight Bulbs - $36.00
http://i12.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/9b/fb/f901_1_b.JPG
b) K2Motor - OEM FOG LIGHT LIGHTS YELLOW - $84.00

What do you guys think? Whats my best option here? Opinions?

Thanks,

Chris

best bet, go for hid. that is what i am doing. I have 10000k for the headlights, so I think I'm going to put 6000k in the fog, or maybe 8000k, so that the color difference won't be to noticable

Thumbs up

I would go for option B, PIAA Bulbs... Heard good Reviews on them.... You can order them from your nearest Pepboys store.

They will ship it to the store for free and you can get your hands on them in 5 - 7 business days.....

PIAA Bulbs are expensive...might as well dish out a little more and go HID. If you plan to keep your car for a long time, it will be better on the long run.

ebay hid kit only about $100 NOW! that is cheap. I paid for mines about $260 last year!

Hmm all the possibilities, what to do... I was just not looking forward to removing the whole bumper to install HID's on the foglights. How about option 2-a? the 'H11 Luminics JDM Yellow Foglight Bulbs'. For $36 they are like the piaa's, they draw only 55w and output 130w. Nice clean hyper yellow to give a nice contrast between the HID's and fogs while maintaining equal noticability for both top and bottom... no? More opinions!

Another thing, going HID all around for top and bottom... I worry that it would be way to bright. Since I don't have projectors it would be like an explosion of light. Also, it would take main focus of the headlights because the fogs are just as powerful. Thats what I was thinking but I may be wrong... ?

Thanks

hid draw only 35w. i aim my headlight low, so iam not blinding anyone. beside, the fog is low too, just don't aim it up. It up to you, but i am going with HID. GL.

irichard you do have a point with the HID's, you're right. HID's is a major possibility for me but I just want to be sure and choose the most logical option.

PoLiShPrInCe could you show me some pictures please?

Thanks

If I was you, I would not go for HID in the Fog lamp. I was thinking to do it, but I realize that every time you switch on and off the high beam, you also switch on and off the fog lamp, so they would not last very long by flicking them on and off all the time. I'd go for a good halogen bulb (white). But I'm not sure which one.....

Seaman, never thought of that. Good point.

Ok so im about 50/50 with halogen vs HID fogs...

Keep the opinions coming, what does everyone think?

Thanks for the input so far everybody!

get the leds if they're multi-led...
they will put as much lumens as hid's but they don't come cheap...
However, it depends on the amount of leds used and all that crap that comes with it.

So would you say the first option is ok? I think these are multi-led, I notice 6 little dots embeded in the yellow circle (6 tiny leds).

E-bay V-LEDS WHITE HIGH POWER - $37.00

Here is a picture of the led bulb lit up:

What do you think?

they're bright and for atheistic purposes...they'd make you have the "bling" effect projectors have while giving you some nice output but no better than halogens though. That's why lexus ls460 is changing from hid's to led technology

LED seems to be the next way to create headlight. Now many concept cars are using them: they last forever, they are light and very small and give the same result as halogen for brightness (many LED together). But I'm not sure about the quality of the one you're showing.....

I was reading the ebay auction for these led bulbs and I found this towards the bottom... "Note: Bulbs are not an adequate light source for driving at night". I am guessing they are all about the "bling" effect like you said striker, because they don't seem to provide enough lighting.

Ok, so I have narrowed it down to two, its either...

H11 Luminics JDM Yellow Foglight Bulbs - $36.00
http://i12.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/9b/fb/f901_1_b.JPG

or

PIAA H11 PLASMA ION YELLOW FOGLIGHT BULBS - $60.00 (Wasn't on my original list)
http://www.ftkproducts.com/ms1/item/h11ion.jpg

Thanks!

any yellow bulb should do it. There's no "great improvement" from one brand to another since they're all coated to be honest. Nokya's should do the trick but for the love of god DO NOT BUY PIAA...they're just coated bulbs that bc of the coating, output sux but instead you get color.

The only reason why I would not go with Nokya is because it says they consume 80w and our cars take 55w bulbs. I have decided to go with the H11 Luminics JDM Yellow Foglight Bulbs. (they consume 55w with a 130w output).

Thanks for your help guys!
