Yet another HID install w/ review (updated, night pics)

Bought these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HID-X...0106QQtcZphoto

Got em from him due to he has 100% feedback w/ 13000 feedbacks

Anyway install was flawless. The HID's were $140. Took roughly 1.5 hours to install w/ not knowing wtf to do.
Oh and its 10,000k
Bought sunday night, shipped monday, got wendsday morning

Edit: i'll take some night shots tonight

Pics

Here's a HID bulb that didn't work too well in a stock reflector.
Did some reading and it seems HIDs bleed very little on ours.
Taken from http://www.intellexual.net/hid.html

and a good HID projector cutoff

Pretty easy. You have to go through the fender to get to em, pop out a clip and pull the housing back, took 5 mins for that to reach the bulbs. I unbolted the ABS pump for passenger side and took out the little coolant tank (just pulls straight up) by the battery to get to the wires (drivers side). Then plugged it all in and worked fine.

I know i cant wait til dark. I'm probably gonna get OEM fogs then get pure yellow LED bulbs then LEDs in the turn signals. Put LED's on my yaris, the color yellow is so fresh and clear.

they would be brighter if you got 4300k. Too blue for my taste, too much attraction to the police

Yea i'm probably gonna buy a 6000k bulb. This is WAY too blue. I feel like a black light on wheels, all the white on the road has a small blac effect kinda.

You're magnifying the temperatures by 10x. It should be 4,300, 6,000, etc.

Personally, I wouldn't go anymore than 6,000K. You're getting the most usable light output at around 4,300K. It just seems people don't find the look too appealing and need some "blue" in there - that's why 6,000K is so common as it has that hint of blue in there. I personally think anything higher is too blue and impractical.

The 10,000k i had were way too blue and it was about as good of visibility as stock if not worse.

When i went to 4,300 (OEM color temp for HIDs in cars) its at least 2x as bright just by eyeballing it.

4300 is pure white w/ a very very tiny hit of blue (brightest)
6000 are a bit blue
8000 are blue
10000 are really blue w/ some purple
12000 are blue/purple (least brightest)

Each time you go to the next level (more color 4300-12000 in that direction) you lose brightness. I love my 4300s. When i hit my brights you can see a world of a difference, the brights are stock and yellow as hell compared to the normal lights w/ HID's

Edit: Yea that link, the one w/ all the HID info. Our housing is built for normal bulbs not HID bulbs. Some head light housings takes HIDs bad and reflects the light everywhere. You can see from my cutoff pic on the fence that its pretty even and only blinding the oncomming traffic a bit so they seem to work well in our reflector housing. I'll take some cutoff pics w/ the 4300s on a flat wall soon enough.

Hope that helps

The "K" does not mean THOUSAND. It's short for Kelvin.... which is the scale that is used to tell you the color temperature.

So 6K is 6 Kelvin and 6000k is 6000 Kelvin.
