HIDs installed...but small aiming problem...

First off, the PLUG AND PLAY kit from eBay is the shit. Got it installed, really simple, really clean, and a HUGE improvement. Full write up with pics to come.

Small problem though. I noticed when driving that it looks like the lights aim slightly to the right of the road. When I got home, I physically looked in the housings and it seems that the chrome thing that the bulb sits behind in the passenger's headlamp is pointed more to the outside than the road than the driver's side. Is this normal?? Is there a way to adjust it?? Did I F something up?? Insight please Never noticed this before with the regular bulbs......

it shouldnt be aimed towards teh drivers side...you would be blinding oncoming cars if that was the case....

Have you tried looking at how it's aimed horizontally? I'm guessing if one is higher than the other, than that side will seem like more light is going to that area.

your headlights are going to aim to the side of the road...they do that on purpose so you dont blind oncoming traffic!

Wouldn't it be horizontal? For example, a HID cut off is such that it looks like ______/----------. You obviously won't get such a pattern with PnP kits, but when I put in my PnP kits, the right looked like it was projecting out more because it was aimed higher.

but you're saying to check if it is aimed higher..which is the same as checking in the vertical direction....

Open to however you want to interpret it, I guess. I was trying to imply to check whether the beams are leveled in a straight (horizontal line) from left to right, but I could see how you interpreted as whether one was higher than the other. Both end up in the same place.

This is normal if you're talking about your passenger's side headlamp shooting farther to the right to illuminate road signs and such.

That's what I figured, but just wanted to make sure. When I look into the lights it looked like that little chrome piece that covers the blub on the passenger's side was focused more to the outside than the driver's side bulb. Just wanted to make sure I didn't screw anything up.

One more question. When I adjust the headlights, how far from a wall should I park. Is 20FT good?? More?? Less??

I am in love with these lights. I sold my IS300 for my SI, and one of the things I missed about it was the HIDs. Having them back is awesome. And they look great. Just wish I had the headlight leveler override like in the Lex. It was nice being about the adjust the leveling up and down from in the car. Especially on windy back roads.
