Why NOT to buy HIDs from DDM
Got a 55w hid kit from ddm for around $80 shipped since it seemed like a good deal. Used for about a month and then the driver side bulb turns yellow out of nowhere. Sent DDM SEVERAL inquiries from their website and via email, got no response whatsoever. However, I did get a bunch of their "discount/promotion" emails non stop ever since my purchase.
![]() Here's what it looks like. ![]() ![]() ![]() Very annoying to look at during night time driving Finally swapped the bulb out today since it didn't look like they were going to respond to any of my inquiries, and found the problem. Looks like the bulb half burnt out in the span of a little under a month??![]() ![]() At least the ballast still works, but I know that their bulbs are a POS now. Got one of my spare bulbs in so hopefully that one will last longer... |

I've heard they're a hit and missing kind of thing. Guess I got unlucky lol, my passenger side bulb that hasn't burnt flickers when I go through bumps too. You're good if you happen get a good one, but once something happens don't count on DDM to do ish about anything

I didn't fix it but I changed the bulb out, the bulb they gave me is pretty much done. Mine are 6000k. My spare one is 5000k haha it looks kinda funky, but not as bad as the burnt bulb. Hm that's a good idea, I'll try to give them a call tomorrow and see how it goes thanks!

No I didn't get the relay wire, and yes I still got the 55w kit. It wasn't a requirement to get it, and they said I probably wouldnt need it >_>'' Sigh I don't know, DDM is the only issue with the 'hit and miss' thing that I've come across so far. I know a few local and online stores where me and all my buddies have got HID kits and they've all been working perfectly fine for over a year. Just DDM, idk. Does retros not use HID kits as well?

Lol yeah awesome if you live near them for sure, you can go in and easily deal with them for issues with the hid kit. Also don't have to deal with shipping. Tried calling them today and couldn't reach them
Going to try again tomorrow.

Wow that sucks man. I used a 55watt DDM in my FX-R retro for probably 6 months with no problems. Then I went to a 35 watt moriomoto ballast set up then went back to the DDM and morimoto bulbs set up.
