the ppl at the long beach one are the biggest **** heads ive ever encountered! i was going on a date in that area so i passed by, i got there right as they were closing and the guy didnt wanna sell me nothing. he was being so serious that i thought he was joking, he kept saying the system is already closed and there internet based so they cant ring me up bla blah blah and after 5 mins of conviencing him he finally let me in. he gave me attitude bout everything when i was trying to be nice to him, he went to the back to get my bulb and he just tosses em on the counter like nothing. then the cashier was handing me the money and from a good 9inches he just dropped the change in to my hand with some of it falling all over the counter. then when i got home one of the bulbs didnt work then i had to wait about 2 weeks for the replacments to come in from china

I had DDM 6k HID's in my old car for over 2 years and no problems at all. Bought a set for my Si and been on my car for about 4 months or so and no issues at all. I bought a set for my mom's car and she loves them, I think its a hit or miss with DDM.

Ive had DDM in 3 cars, a truck, and a bike. Never a single problem. I never got a 55w kit because people say the heat can become too much and start to melt that plastic around it in the light housing. With bulbs going out, just be careful never to touch the bulbs when installing because the oil on your fingers will cause the light the burn out prematurely

Lol I still can't get ahold of them through the phone. I haven't touched the bulb at all when I put it in. On the other hand, I've accidently touched my old 35w HID bulb when swapping it in and out (not from DDM) and it hasn't burned out for over a year. While DDM's just dies within a month and I can't even contact them through email or phone

I've had a 35w kit with 5000k bulbs for over a year now and they're still perfect. best $40 i've ever spent honestly..

only made sweeter by the fact that I live less than 2 miles away from their shop

Very annoying to look at during night time driving Finally swapped the bulb out today since it didn't look like they were going to respond to any of my inquiries, and found the problem. Looks like the bulb half burnt out in the span of a little under a month??

At least the ballast still works, but I know that their bulbs are a POS now. Got one of my spare bulbs in so hopefully that one will last longer...
Why u pay so much

I can relate!

Not really sure what to think at this point about DDM. I purchased a 55w 5K HID kit from DDM probably about three months back. The initial reason I considered DDM was because of the cost of their kit. I didn't want to just go with the cheapest kit, but the reason I ended up with them was because of their promised quality service and lifetime warranty on all of their HID kits.

Directly from their website:

(Do these lights have any warranty? Yes! We warranty all our HID Kits by a lifetime warranty!

Why DDM Tuning? Aside from the best prices, we carry all of our HID Kits on hand. We have the most advanced phone system and online help desk in the industry, and it is set up to provide every customer with quality service. Aside from offering a LIFETIME warranty, we have the most detailed install guides for every modern bulb type, and are constantly updating our help desk to better serve our customers.)

As seen at: HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning

After reading this, I felt pretty certain that DDM was a fairly reputable source that would have no problem backing up their service and decided to purchase. A few weeks ago, I noticed my driver's side bulb had gotten noticeably more yellow than the other bulb. I thought that it might just be because of the cold. After two more days, the bulb continued to fade even more yellow. To the point where any other driver on the road can and would notice.

I took these pictures and decided to email DDM's direct warranty and customer service address explaining what was happening and just asking them what the next step would be along with any advice. Withing a few hours, Jianpeng contacted me back asking me to send more pictures of the evident fade in color. I did and then proceeded to wait four days with no response. I sent another email asking for some sort of recognition that they had at least received my follow up email. No response. Tried calling. Provided ticket and claim number and my name in messages and emailed once more. It's been over a week and a half now with no response whatsoever.

I guess you get what you pay for. Is three months worth a $70 kit? =}

Who knows... In the mean time, I was sick of looking at different colored headlights, and have started the process of ordering another kit from another provider.

Still, No Hate at DDM.

I'm gonna have to disagree.
Bought my 55 watt 5K from DDM 2 years ago and running like a champ
I liked them so much, I bought a 35 watt 6K for my 99 civic. At first the lights weren't working, but I called and explained the situation. Within days, I received new wire harness and since then, they've been working
I have nothing but good things to say about this company

I got the 35Watt slim ballast kit from DDM, I've been using it for about 2-3 months. So far no real complaints about the product itself. However DDM customer service is not very good. A couple of days after I placed my order DDM lowered the prices for the HID kits, the refused to price match my order. I thought that was pretty bad considering it was within 2 days of the sale. Most businesses would honor that.

I'm biased but i'll throw in my 2 cents. DDM kits from 2 years are completely different from the products they are selling now...

Either way, sorry you have to go through this. At least the bulb didn't burst in your housing and require you to deal with getting fragments out of a headlight housing... Contact your Credit card company or paypal and file a dispute.

lol if we were paying the same for the components we use then that wouldn't be a problem. The problem is that we pay considerably more for the components we use in our HID kit. Furthermore, we actually stand behind our products should there ever be a problem. I'm not jumping into this thread to promote our product. I just think that the OP should contact his CC company if the vendor refuses to deal with the issue. It's unfortunate that it has to get this far...

I've had my DDM hids for almost a year, put them in myself, and kind of just placed the ballasts where ever... No problems at all, $40 well spent

This is what they sent me. After one week, one of the ballast crapped out. I contacted them and they said to fill out the claim form on their site. So I'll see where it goes from there. Also, I think they sent me 6k instead of the 5k like I ordered.
