Broken Foglight

Anyone try to replace the glass/plastic if it was broken or cracked. One of mine is broke looking to see if there are any alternatives to buying another set.

Do u have H.I.D'S in ur fogs? Mine cracked 2 and I was told that maybe the HID'S cracked the lens b/c it got 2 hot. Don't know if that's true or not but it has happened twice already 2 me

Just sux I got mine cracked. The lamp comes in as the whole assembly. So you have to get a new lamp or modify to fix things yourself. I checked with Honda Parts.

I got HID's in my fogs. but I don't think that was the case bc it was only my driverside one that cracked plus there was a little hole near the bottom of it. Since I've put on the lamin x film I've had no problems with them.

i wouldnt get the 20 mil lamin-x it burns easily when you leave your fogs on and arent driving, i saw mine smoking in about 6 mins when i wasnt moving. and no HIDs will not make it crack, hids put out less heat than the regular bulbs. they are basically a flourescent light use less energy and put out less heat while putting out more light

Guys, don't do the lamin-x thing, it doesn't work. My original passenger side foglight broke, so I replaced them and got lamin-x... less than two months later the driver's side broke, and I'm not a tailgater.
Whenever I get around to it, I'm going to dig out my original driver's side (thank GOD I kept it) and make a lexan shield... it's the only sure way to prevent damage to our fragile, fragile foglights

HID's produce less heat than halogens, so it wasn't the HID's.

Thats what was on my mind to do. I have the same lexan in my garage. Nothing is going to melt or break it. And it is a helluva lot cheaper than a new set of fogs...

It wont yellow, I read the RSX thread and the guy said it lasted around 8 months, then it began to bubble. But he thinks that was caused by the metal shield inside. I'm still gonna do it, for $ 3.00 it is alot cheaper than $65.00.
