Best HID conversion kit + Best price
hey guys I am planning to get HID conversion kit, but what are the best set out there including the ballast other than Philips (most Philips are over $300). I am not trying to spend too much money, maximum budget is around $250. Plus if know any places i can get good deals on it, HOOK ME UP!

Most people and me here have the HID kit from ebay, theres also Kaixen, Purevision, Xenondepot's xtreme...etc all under 300$
btw don't listen to striker_1818, he will persuade you to go all out with HIDs and projectors which is about $1000+ whereas if you can't afford expensive night driving light, do what most of us did, just get a Plug n Play hid kit from luckyhao2@gmail.com for 155$ shipped Last edited by Exeon; 12-26-2006 at 12:14 AM. |

and that won't help your night-driving...they're all color but no real output on the road... safest way to go is between 4000 and 5000 Kelvin |

4100K and 4300K are OEM for cars equipted with OEM projector HID's(some new benz come with 4700K though). 4000K-5000K You get the most usable light. The further you go from it...the minimal light output on the road you will get, but at the same time the more "color" you will get from the kit.

dont listen to striker, all he does is tell you pnp kits are bad, blah blah blah
look around this car forum (and others) to see what people got, then make your decison. It's best that you do some research on your own, see what other peoples' experiences are with pnp kits then make your decision, good luck! |

6000K pnp kits give grea light output. Yes, it does have a slight blue tint to it but it is worth all the light you get over the stock lighting. If you want the best ligh from a pnp go with 4300k or so. My pnp is ok but I have a flicker in my passenger headlight. I will eventually go with a retro but I will not go back to the stock lighting.

i 100% agree with striker, you get what you pay for. If you're saying you're broke or on a limited budget then don't even waste your money on headlights...this is why you broke people just stay broke! If you really want the benefits of HID, do not do PnP, retrofit is the only way to get a useable, safe beam. If you want a brighter bulb try silverstars or something for ~ $40.

damn...wats up with all the striker haters up in this thread. hes 100% correct when it comes to just getting a retrofit for your car....its very expensive but it is totally worth it and like he said...u get what you pay for. the brightness, color, and everything else is thousand times better than just a regular PnP kit. However, if you want less light output out of your car and u wanna blind people from behind and on-coming traffic then PnP kits are the way to go. My main reason for getting a retrofit (s2k which i have not received yet but will show pictures next week when i get it thats gonna be a first of a kind on this website from this one baller) is to see better at night cuz i do a lot of night driving, second is the look. 4300k is the best for light output....5k is good also but anything over that is crap.
Im still in ur fan club striker...its all good in da hood homie. |
