Where did u place ur ballast (plug & play HID)?

i'm just curious where ppl mount their ballast from their HID kits...low beam or fog HIDs, i need some idea where to place them so that they are somewhat easy to access in case of anything. i noticed some people tuck them inside the bumper, but isn't it a hassel if u need to plug/unplug something and u need to remove ur whole bumper just to do that?

thanks guys, some pix of where u place ur ballast would be appreciated!

placement

I placed the driver's side one in front of the battery right next to the coolant overflow tank. Removed the tank. Took out the little plastic clip for the hose from the tank to the radiator. There is a 10mm bolt already there. I got the idea from many of the pictures already posted. For the other side, I drilled a hole in a similar spot and mounted. Pretty easy. Much easier than actually getting to the bulbs.

my ballasts are mounted under the headlights, i dont have any pictures of it but if you take off the bumper it will make sense. And im using the relay kit from the auction to connect my kit to the battery, red to positive and black to negative

I just kinda stuffed mine in - driver's side beside the coolant tank, passenger side behind the brake lines there. They're not going anywhere........just kinda sit in there.

HID Fog Lights: I mounted my ballasts actually ON the support brackets for the lights themselves.

Low Beam HIDs: Mounted the ballasts using the metal holders to the frame itself. I drilled a pilot hole, and them used self tapping Hex metal screws to finish off the procedure. The passenger side ballast is mounted just next to the brake controller, and right above the high beam (kinda next to the hinge for the hood proper-upper). And the Driver's side ballast to the right of the battery, just next to the coolant reservior...again tapped and drilled into the frame.

Hope this helps!

I placed mine on top of the mount that hold the airbag sensors. Basically its between the wheel well and the headlight housing. It already had a whole on the metal so I got a screw that sat flush. If you look in the engine bay it looks like I didnt do anything.

now for the pics of where i have my old school ballasts installed...
passenger side

driver's side

grounded at the black screw (fender screw) on both driver and passenger side.

the power wire from the passenger side was ran under the front cowl to the battery...the one on the driver's side u can run anywhere u feel like to the batter cuz it's right there. Just make sure to secure the rest of the wire.

both the ballasts and the relays on the wire harness came with mounting brackets which made for a pretty easy install using the pre-existing screws on the car as shown...they are torx/star screw...

Wait a minute! Should I put the ground wire to the relay to the frame???? My instructions said to hook it to the - terminal on the battery.
