the sad part is they should have been destroyed, while they made some good computers, they were like having a gamecube or xbox.... after a year it was outdated lol (except game systems last longer lol)
and it saved their destruction not because of a superior product but because they could easily brainwash people into thinking they HAVE to HAVE IT to be COOL! and it worked, kinda like starbucks lol Honda on the other hand has been creating products that are GREAT for the environment, as well as peoples pockets... cant say apple has done anything... but say the recycle now (of course if u remember the whole battery fiasco u know the truth behind that one lol) there is no ignorance here dude, and i do know it saved them, but personally they are a company that isnt really helping neone here in america BUT all in all we can create another board for discussion on this if youd like for now lets stick (as said many times before) to the topic... orients cool toys lol Vfmp... read the whole thread and then decide.. thats what i did ;-) |

Wow, that is beyond false. So false, actually, it's opposite. The HID draw is only 35W, not the 50W like the standard 9006 bulbs that came with the car. The 9005 High Beams are completely separate. Ask your friend who told you thing about the high beams being disabled for his advice on an important subject, and then do the exact opposite of what he says and you'll be all set.

i tried the connections...I ripped everything apart and then re-assembled everything. Still nothing, so I first swapped out the bulb and installed it into the "good" ballast, it came on for a second and then shut off. Then I wanted to check out the "good" bulb in the other ballast...the SAME thing! It would come on for a second (very dim) and then shut off!!! I cant believe that I received a bad ballast and bulb!

Yes, I have the same kit that OP is using. I followed his DIY to the T and that ballast/bulb isnt working. Hao contacted me very quickly and is solving this problem, no questions asked! The luck that I am having these past 2 weeks, I would be "that guy". I still recommend this company and their products to anyone! I have already referred 3 of my friends to his online store!
Thank you for the help! |

Thanks, OP, for this tutorial. I ended up getting a different kit, but it had the same type of setup. I too chose a 6000K kit. I mounted them in the same locations. My kit didn't come with a relay harness, but I will go w/o them for now, since my friends that have PNP HID kits for a couple of years now, don't have an issue. And if I do....well tough luck on me. I also utilized the pair of 10mm nut and bolts that the kit came with, to suppliment the threaded ones already on the car. Thanks again, OP, for pointing these out as they made the install easier.
I do want to point out for people that have the factory intake/resonator, I had already removed mine as I did a poor man's Mugen intake. If you still have your stock resonator, you may have some space issues while working on getting the ballast on the drivers side. Other than that, it was a breeze to install. I personally just lifted the car on jack stands, turned the wheel, and removed most of the fender well. Then I turned the wheel the other way when I worked on the other side. The hardest part was turning the bulbs to lock in. I didn't have any silicone lubricant, so I guess that may have helped. This took about 45mins for me to install. Thanks again. Great write up and great pics! I'm coming from a BMW M5 and the HID's on there would move up and down depending on the angle of the car...Like for example you went into a dip the lights would adjust upwards, and downward like if you were accellerating real hard and the front of the car lifted up.
The problem I have seen is that on one of my favorite turns I took in my new 08 Fa5 Si, the beam lighting the road and the turn ahead was really bouncy. It was totally annoying. At least for me. Wouldn't Hid's be even worse since they are soo much brighter? Copied from nifty "'By design, ALL...ALL xenon system cars (acura, bmw, MB, linc, lex) are fitted with self-leveling xenon lights. Based on the strength of the HID lights which are about 3x stronger than normal light bulbs are, how would u like to be stuck with all that power in your eyes!!!! Well anyway in response to you wondering why your M5 would need self-lev lights....sorry bud, but u'r M5 isnt any less special than the others. Its not even the M5 that is the issue here...its the company that makes the lights, whom i have no idea who it is (Is it BOSCH?) , that designs the lights like that." |
