They're aimed perfectly fine. 30ft away the "cutoff" is below the cars license plate.

you should have a hole here where you can mount the bracket

Man, I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I installed my kit yesterday and once I got to the driver's side, I was looking at Orient Express' picture from the 1st post and wondering how he mounted the ballast there.

The question I have with mounting the ballast where the green arrow points to is this: Won't there be any water coming from under the headlight directly into the ballast therefore damaging it? If so, should we not cover the ballasts in plastic or something?

Regarding the glare of the headlights that some people experienced, I believe the problem is with the fact that their bulbs are not in properly. One of my bulbs did not go in properly and it's a bit sideways in the housing. As a result I get a horrible glare. Will need to fix that later on today.

07Ex, goback to page 52.
Take a look at the pictures that I posted.
I couldn't find any other better place to mount the ballast.
I found a spot inside the engine area, but concerned of the direct heat
from the engine block.
To sit the bulb properly try to use OEM O-ring.
All I know that the ballast is waterproof (experiments done by some manufactures ... I forgot which company but they dip the whole unit inside an aquarium tank with lights on).

That looks like a good alternate location.

So it looks like on the non-hybrid civics, there is an air box or something that is bolted in the position that I used to mount my ballast? What is that black box there under the bulkhead?

One other tip, is that if you do mount your ballast horizontally, squirt some white lithium grease in the 12 v connector shell of the ballast to further waterproof the connection.

the black box is the resonator part of the stock intake

UPDATE: I installed the bulb properly in the headlight housing and now I get no glare whatsoever. Will take some pictures tonight to show you the cutoff.

Well, the OP has a hybrid, which has to be a sedan, and he has not had problems getting flashed.

I had no problems with installation in my 06 Sedan and I am very happy with the results.

Are the mounting brackets a must have? Will the double sided tape do? I mean I'm assuming zip tie and possibly velcro it?

Yes mount them with the bracket and bolts. Not chewing gum, Velcro, or zip ties.

great write up, this is similiar to the kitI got, now there isnt any connection to the battery with this kit right? just plugs into your stock harness and connect the other wires to the ballast and bulb?
