^ kinda agree with both of you. its wrong to stop us from helping others get a good deal. everyone knows the dangers of shopping on ebay also. and to make us buy from sponsers only is wrong. they are the ones that should make us want to buy from them, or price match the others. even collegehillshonda will do that.

Geez quit whinning about not being able to post ebay links.
I'm sure if you ran a business and pay a certain amount of advertise your product, You wouldn't want your money to be used on advertising other products.
Same has happened to many non-vendors in here that later on became sponsors/vendors.

hey, its one thing if the vendor WAS advertising in here
its another when you have to block people saying that another product is superior to yours
and just cause someone says it is doesnt always mean it is, which is the problem with vendors that wish to block the KNOWLEDGE of these products
Lowes openly talks about home depot, but home depot refuses to talk about lowes....
which is why lowes is currently the better company
a company not afraid of mentioning its competitor if they dont have a better product is a company that provides the better customer service, ultimately leading to customers returning to their company after a good experience
now college hills honda does just that, they send you to someone else if they cant give you the better cost
so im sorry striker our heads but again, but im not whining, im stating well known facts , and having a DISCUSSION, something you have yet to have without having to tear someone down
im sure u feel so big on the other side of your internet connection and so clever, but your no different from a fat 12 year old screaming at his computer when he gets hacked. Unless your gonna say something nice, dont say nething at ALL

That is an open market.
This is just a website where MANY vendors sell similar or the same products for different prices. As a website, they have the right to(if it complies with the rules) do what they seem favorable to sell such products. Not do they have a right but it is what it is. They are paying a website for advertisement. The whole Lowes and Home depot comment you made just went a little overboard it misrepresents this particular case.
Put it this way, you have Company A putting up billboard ad on a skyscrapper. But then comes company B adding a piece of their business ad in that same billboard advertisement without paying any space or single dime. Now, Company A starts losing customers to company B on a space that belongs to company A.
This is a simple fact. That's why there are no ebay links on HIDplanet because HIDplanet is a business first, then a forum.

ok lets put it this way
this is a forum, where people who are not vendors are aloud to discuss various items and such
seeing that even tho part of the forum is payed for by vendors, part of it is also paid for by VIPs. In this case its not a billboard, while there is a section with a billboard, a list of the vendors and random ads by vendors, including google and ebay ads
Thus being the case, a person who is NOT a vendor should be aloud the ability to post what he thinks about product a vs b, and give people information so they can research it themselves, otherwise its not a free market
and lowes and home depot is a good point
just like college hills vs schaller, at one place u get excellent customer service, at the other you get "WE ARE THE ONLY ONE IN EXISTENCE" that attitude destroys reputation and turns people off to the business.
Now if this was a billboard, i wouldnt be allowed to post nething at all except praises about a vendors who sponsors the sites product
since its not, i do have freedom of speech to disagree with what we are being told
im not part of HIDplanet, because it is a business first, whereas this is a forum first, funded by MULTIPLE business, AND people who are not a business but their own entity
it is then that there is no way you can compare a place like this to a billboard, unlike comparing HIDplanet to a billboard
freedom of speech is the reason i left honda-tech.com, there was no freedom, unless you were bashing other people, then it was perfectly ok, cause there was no moderation, and lots of people who neglect their regular lives to spend their days on the forum lol
many forums have different rules, and so far the only ones i disagree with here is the inability to post nething not honda civic related (EVEN if its for trade towards a honda part.... kinda weird) and the moderators imposing the rule that we cant post links to products that their sponsors did not approve....
personally, i dont believe thats a great way to run a forum, and while i am unaware of how much it costs to sponsor as a business, im sure that this forum was begun originally to HELP people with their vehicles, not create turmoil and steer people towards a single product because that company payed.....
doesnt that undermine freedom?
