Thanks. what i meant about the high beams though, is that when u have your low beams off, just DRL's, and you flash the high beams..

do your HID low beams come on also? or just the high beam? i thought it would be a problem because the hid's need to ignite, and i thought it's possible that it ignites every time u flash your highbeams creating a problem (shortening the life of the hid kit?)

Yes, the lows come on when you flash your highs. And yes, there is a risk of damaging the bulbs if you were to repeat this often.

I ordered this kit and arrived after 5 days. I live in Canada btw and im surprised that no tax was charged to me.
So far, Im very happy with it.. the colour, light output, etc, but im just concerned in one thing.. When I turn the lowbeams on, it gives out a sudden burst of flash very fast, and then dims a bit for about 2-3 sec before it gives out the normal light output. Is this normal?

That would be normal HID start-up.

wait.. so let me get this straight... you installed a PnP HID kit into your stock civic reflectors, after 2 months time the bulbs colour-shifted and so the beam pattern went from this:

camera effect + wall color = different output.
Remember...all true HID's colorshift (4,100K - 4,300K)

^ Assuming it's a white wall, the second photo is more like OEM hids. The first one is messed up by the camera's AWB.

So let me set the record straight

As the originator of this thread, I wanted to provide the context of these photos.

There were a few of you that were interested in beam patterns, and were interested in what the pattern looked like with a HID conversion using the Civic reflectors.

I had received a request to see what a wall reflection looked like. I did not have any photos at the time so I simply did what those who were interested should have done, i.e. I did a search of the forum archives, and came up with this photo.

Please notice that in the original post, it has a credit to the original photographer.

Later, I actually got around to taking a photo of a Civic headlight pattern wit the HID conversion that I did, and this is what this photo is.

If you are looking for a representative photo of color, then use this one.

The bottom line is that they are from 2 different cars, cameras, environments, and photographers. That is why they look quite a bit different. There is no claim that the conversion color-shifted etc. or that this is a before and after series of photos.

I believe most people use "force" and "pushed the bulb in" with firm pressure and lock it in as u do with a normal 9006 bulb and that should do the trick.

the passenger should fit with ease, but the drivers side, I used some oil around the housing where it locks into headlight

2 months and still working fine

There are three screws you can loosen to give you more space. Either loosen or remove (careful not to lose the screws) and the insert the bulb. Once they are in reattached the screws and bezel and you should be good.

hey there, just wanted to say awsome write up on the HID install. I orders this kit and had it a few day later. It has all be installed and working amazing. I had a quick question about the relay install.

Ive installed the relay,
1) the positive and negative are hooked to the battery
2) the orignial headlight wire is hooked onto the harness socket
3) the 2 wires left in relay are plugged into each of the ballasts.

Im assuming i did this right as everything is turning on.

Does this seem correct??

thanks
