Blue light is passable and has less lumens. That basically means there will be less light output. 6,000K on the other hand has more white and a tint of blue. Your eyes will love blue more and you will notice it from a great distance, however, there will be more glare because you have more lumens. However, if you go down the kelvin temperature, you won't notice much a subtle white or yellowish color because your eyes will catch more "blue" tuff out there on the road rather than yellow or subtle white. Intense white/blue/purple on the other hand is a no-no but of course, the less intensity, the less your eyes will be bothered by them.

I thought it was time to provide input on the install. I installed the 6000k kit in my Civic about 1.5 weeks ago. I did not use the relay kit. So far, the lights start up normally with no flicker. Light output and pattern are very good. I needed this update because I have cataracts in both eyes, and the cataracts have not progressed to the stage my insurance will cover the surgery. I have to drive to work in the dark every morning. So, any improvement over stock lighting is helpful and safer for me.
Thanks to OE for the DIY and to Striker for help! |

The biggest downfall is that you lose the ability to flash someone because HIDs take a bit of time to start up. Also, you don't tend to use high beams for a very long time like you do with high beams. Turning them on and off constantly would wear them down quite a bit. |

I would still try getting some lube in there. If that doesn't work, slowly sand down the area that is getting caught - it should be fairly obvious as that part of the bulb will be contact damage. Otherwise, if the bulb isn't seating in the socket firmly, your lights will be bouncing everywhere and possibly fall out.
