Mine work fine...NO I repeat NO harness. I plugged directly in, the ONLY thing I get is the wonderful turn on flash, about a 10 second start up, and then a little time to warm to a brilliant white(its gangsta) and then solid beams no flickering no nothing. I can turn them on and THEN start the car and no dimming, or blinking other than maybe a millisecond. I would say put them in without the harness and see what works for you, then decide.

Got to say, I love your placement on the ballasts. I initially had them in the engine bay. Since reading your post, I've relocated them like yours and pointed in the right direction to prevent moisture damage. This was a few months ago, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Best DIY I have ever seen. After reading this I am determined to install the HID kit in my car as well.

Is the color shift really that drastic? I just want WHITE light WITHOUT even a tad of yellow in it. If they shift toward the blue side, would I want to get 5k? I've seen 6k kits in person and love it. How long does it take to color shift anyways? I'd hate to drop the dough if it's going to end up TOO blue.

okay i got these kits about a week ago, been lazy to install. finally took the time to install them today...okay first off, the price was good...shipping was excellent, but the installation process was NOT pleasant at all. it was quite hard to fit the bulbs into the hole perfectly, unlike the OEM bulbs (that pushes right in so you can twist to lock)...i had one bulb that would not go in no matter what, i had to sand down some stuff..to make it slide in...cause the sizin was just too diferent, it wa a lot thicker than the OEM ones, making them harder to push in...the right side struggled to get in..while the left one could not at all...it took hrs to finally get them to...go in...however the ballast was a piece of cake...i put it next to the bumper..inside the fender..(not touching any part of the car)...there was a hole that allows the 10mm screws to be screwed on perfectly...i think honda intended for the hole to be used that way...it went perfect...n theres a hole for both sides..so i had a perfectly installed ballast on both sides. there was no wires in the way or near it.. HOWEVER, there was one huge problem that bugged me. 2 nights ago when i tried to do this...i connected the ballast to the bulb...it DID NOT WORK...but i tried to use the relay wires, to connect to the battery...it worked! but however tonight, i plugged in the ballast and bulbs it worked perfect fine...so i was liek screw the relays...lol...i installed them...n it works great..i love the color, it looks awesome. anyways, i wanna know WHAT DOES THE RELAY WIRES DO EXACTLY?! i mean what exactly is better if i used it.

Did you use the same location for the ballast that was described in the original instructions on this thread? Just curious...

it's a triggering device in case the ballasts for example goes bad and/or extracts more power than it should be, the fuse and relay harness will go poop. However, your stock harness will be fine.

And one more thing I don't get, if these ballasts were tested by being submerged into a pool of water, then why do we need to worry about water when installing these Anywhere should be fine then.

an

yes originally, i did put it like how the thread indicated..at first the right side, then when i was doing the left side, it was a lil bit complicated...because the screw i was suppose to use, was too short...i had to replace the oem ones with the ones that came in the kit, and i couldnt access the screws to unscrew it...only way i could do it is by removing battery and ecu out of the way. so i looked for another alternate. finally i found a hole that would be perfect for the ballast. and i went back to the right side n found that the exact same hole and position as the left side. and so i changed it for the right side, and everything was perfect...i loved the way the ballasts are harnessed right now...it is PERFECT. im gonna leave the relay wires alone n just leave it here, since its not that important. thanks a lot for the reply...im doing the fog lights soon. ill have some pics up for the HID soon...the quality is excellent!!! money well spent!! but the product coul've been manufactured better.

guys i used and bought bulbs from the guy on ebay and one of my bulbs went bad (It turned pink) I informed him of the problem and he gladly sent me 2 more bulbs for free! No shipping or anything. All I have to say is that I am very satisfied with the ebay sellers customer service and will definatly buy from him again in the future.

You simply duplicated something that was already there.

Your owners manual can be very enlightening reading, if you choose to do it.
I was researching the HID subject and came across this response. Yes, each bulb harness is wired in parallel and protected by a fuse. Yes, it is done so that when one bulb goes out due to a fuse going out, you will have the other to get you home. This only works to a point.

A couple of days ago both low-beam bulbs burned out at the same time while I was driving. No electrical problem caused this. The bulbs were the Sylvania Ultra and were about 10-months old, about the time for them to burn out based on other people that use them. I had to use the high beams to drive. It got me home, but made for some very unhappy on-coming traffic.

go for the ones that the topic starter went with. mention 8thcivic when you buy them too. one of my bulbs went bad and he sent me 2 more for free because he has a warranty. Youll be happy if you go with him.
