So chances are probably that I'm down a ballast... Dammit, I don't want to tear up both wheel wells again!

I just received my replacement ballasts tonight. They were supposed to come yesterday, but UPS goofed. The dude has excellent customer service. Overnight shipping from China. Any who, here's some shots of the 6,000 kit:

These only go into your low beams. Your DRLs are separate. You can buy a 9005 high beam kit, but I personally think that serves no function and a waste of money.

well, after putting this kit on, i don't have drl's or high beams. i followed the instructions, and did not even mess with anything to do with the high's. the only thing i did differently, and before i had read this post, was hook up the relay harness.

Perhaps you can disassemble your kit and see if your high beams are still functional? Also, check your fuses.

when i installed my ballasts i found that when u take out the bumper and headlights there is a "pocket" of sheet metal extending back behind the headlights. this was a perfect place to install the ballasts. far away form any wires/sensors and completey stealth.

dont mount them too low or else ull get water all over them
under the headlight is the best place

I just installed the kit in my 07 FG. PERFECT! mounted the ballasts the same as orient did in his install. I didnt have any problems with fit that a long flat bladed screwdriver didnt fix in 5 seconds, And did not use the harness! After 20 mins of use, the headlights were slightly warm to the touch thats all. here is the difference... passenger side took 30 mins start to finish.
Here is a crappy cell phone pic but it is a huge difference. And also the cutoff is near perfect. No bright flashes yet!

My experience with 's hids i bought...
1) hooked up directly to your OEM 9006 plug will result in flickering. That flickering will happen every minute and your lights will blink twice.
2) Such flickering will shortern the life of your ballasts
3) If your ballasts keep flickering, the result will be on a dead ballast within 3 months.
How to fix it, a relay harness: This will get rid of the flickering.

Let me ask you guys how many of you without the relay harness have experienced dead ballasts within 3 months?

Brilliant! Excellent product! 10 months and working just fine.

My only comment would be that the product documentation for the HID kit should be re-written by someone that is fluent in American english.
