I tried to grind it down with a dremel but I can't see what part needs to be ground down. I tried grinding the base where the 3 little "ears" are and it didn't seem to help. I was afraid to grind off too much. I guess if it moves around or falls out I'll have to try to grind some more.

A suggestion for the stuck bulb owners

May I suggest that you don't grind anything, just try a different way of seating the bulb.

If your bulb is getting hung up, it is usually in the last 5 degrees of rotation, and is being caused by the top bulb base ear pushing up against the the snap clip spring in the headlight housing. This clip is a little stiff and can make fully installing the bulb difficult.

To get around this and to get the bulb base to "click" in place, push on the bulb base with a flat-bladed jewelers screwdriver. Turn the bulb as much as you dare by hand and then use the screwdriver blade to push on the top ear that has to pass the snap clip. To make things easier, also lubricate the bulb base with some silicone lubricant. Use a Q-tip to apply the lubricant to the bulb base.

That sounds like it might work however, I can't push it in far enough for the ears to go in past the retaining ring. It seems to not want to go in all the way and I can't get enough pressure on it in that small space. I will try lubricating it and see how that works.

OK I found some grease and lubed it up and it popped right in. Thanks for the help. I wonder why the left one was so hard, the right one went in without a problem.

Great to hear.

I have always found that if the hole is wet and slippery, it makes it much easier to stick the shaft in.

No wires were cut or harmed in the installation of this HID kit.

Agreed, totally plug and play. The hardest part is getting to the light which can be a real b!tch. Also people seem to have trouble getting the left light to go in for some reason but just lube it up and it will pop right in.

Just be sure to not get any lube on the bulb, in fact, don't even breathe on it.

yea i had that problem with driver's side lamp...coudln't push enuf to turn..
it's been 4 days now hoping for the best since i'm too lazy to take off the wheel and all that =_=

btw, when you face ur car to a wall, do you notice a little rainbow effect on a top cutoff area? it is a minor thing but kinda annoys me seeing it...
would there be a fix to that?

thank you in advance!

I think the housing on the driver side is narrower, because I had the same issue. But the rainbow affect you're talking about is the glare from the HIDs in the reflector housing. Whole reason that people get projectors is because of that chromatic rainbow. tends to through bright light up toward oncoming traffic

Here are some pictures from my install. It took me about 2.5 hours, but that's because it took me 45 minutes to figure out why it wasn't working. Turns out that I didn't connect one of the connectors securely enough. I think if you know what you're doing, and connect things properly the first time, it should take about 1 hour. Finding a place to mount the ballast on the passenger side was easy, as shown in the tutorial. For the driver's side, you have to be more creative. I found a place right in between the wheel well and the bumper. Oh, and mine are 6000k.

And I found this little bugger when I was working on the right side.

I need help.
I just went and tried to test out my kit. I have the same kit from the same vendor. I connected all the wiring and double checked. I turned on my engine, and turned the switch but nothing happened. I tried a few more times but my lights wont turn on. Can you help me out. Is there something I'm missing? I have everything that Orient has.
Please help. Thanks in advance.

First thing I would recommend is that you make sure the connections are secure, use channel locks or something like that to clamp the connections tightly. I had the same problem at first, I thought it was tight enough but I was wrong. Once I squeezed it with channel locks the light came on. Try this 1st and then go from there.

Same thing happened to me. robinsonda1 is correct. You just have to connect everything securely.

I just did my install with the , 5000k. I'm very happy with the color. . . just a tick higher k than factory HID, I posted a video of it on youtube, but as you all know, HID in pictures is hard to capture. (Just search for Civic 5000k) The color is like pure white with the tiniest bit of blue/indigo/violet in it.

TafEx, I ran into a similar problem. Someone said channel locks and that worked for me perfectly. It's really hard to get enough leverage between your factory plug and the plug for the kit. 2 Channel locks, one on either side of the connection and you slowly snap it together. Reassuring *click*!

I also found a really good new place to mount the ballasts. It requires a torx T30 (Starbit) but you can bolt it on directly! I want to post picture of this and my lights. . . what is a good picture hosting service that people use on here?

Thanks, Coastale.
