I was going to resort to that but the secret to getting it to connect all the way was... Channel locks! Finally snapped those SOBs in there. Myself and 2 others couldn't get the connection to go all the way in until we broke out the channel locks. Once we snapped it in there they lit up right away. The drivers side is the side that really gave me a pain, the passenger side was a breeze, probably because I learned tricks along the way on the drivers side. I've had a flicker a couple times on the passenger side when first turning on the lights, but it stabilizes after about 10 seconds. The drivers side lights up perfectly. I'll probably tear apart the passenger side and double check everything another day, but I'm just happy everything works for now! I LOVE the way they look. When I had one HID connected and one factory bulb connected it looked absolutely ridiculous. They look 500% better than the factory bulbs. Light up more of the road, and light it all up in brighter, whiter light. Not really sure what it's like for oncoming traffic though... Here's a quick pic I took on my victory lap around the block.

These new versions of the HID Kit does not fit

contact luckyhao2@gmail.com and ask for the old wiring(one that hooks to the stock socket)
Yah, I bet those other ones work better cuz these blue ones suck! I guess what can I really expect for the price of the kit...

Looks great man, congrats on getting it working, I knew it sounded like something to do with the wiring/plugging into the power.

So the only thing bad about the new one is that it is hard to get the clips to clip?

Yah, that's the only thing that doesn't appear to fit very well in the kit. The actual bulb is also fairly hard to screw into the headlight area like mentioned on page 1. Not sure what the story was but the drivers side took us about an hour of effort on and off to finally get it to go, the passenger side went right in in less than 30 seconds. The only other problem is the flicker on the passenger side but to tell you the truth I kind of hurried through that side because it was dark, I was starting to feel the effects of the whisky cokes I had been sipping while working, and just wanted to get it done. I rechecked all my connections about 5 times on the drivers side while troubleshooting my problem and everything went together so quickly on the passenger side that I didn't double check everything. The end result is fantastic though! 6000K was definitely the right color for me, I wanted it to be blatantly HID but not blue or purple enough to look like an aftermarket HID kit or lose a lot of light output versus the 4300K kits. I also strongly suggest anybody that is going to take this project on buy about 5-10 of those plastic clips that hold the wheel well liner on since I broke 4 or 5 of them during my install. I tried to baby them on the first wheel and not break them but it's not worth your effort. Just pry and tear them out and put new ones in on whatever ones didn't come out cleanly. Only about $1.10 at the local Honda dealer.

i know that when i replaced my halogens with wanna be hid bulbs, it was hard to get them in. I just swapped the o ring on the outside of the bulbs and they went right in. dont know if you can put the o ring from the halogens onto the hid's.

The new version of the HID Kit DOES fit!

Atleast for me it did... just use the 'relay harness' and everything plugs in perfectly. I installed yesterday, looks great!

ordered my kit on sunday, kit shipped monday, and i received them today...
overnight shipping! wow!

i did get the kit with the blue plug to plug into the stock wiring harness, guess you just have to push it in a little harder from what i hear..

im going to take OE's advice and not install the relay.
Im going to install later tonight or tomorrow, i'll post pics when im done if i can.
I got the 6000K kit

Update: the new verison of this kit with the blue plus WILL FIT, just takes a little better push to plug in. ( I used a small pipe wrench and it went right in with a little bit of pressure)

The relay wiring harness is not necessary!

However, if security blankets, and monsters under the bed are a part of ones life, then by all means, install the relay. Being scared of the unknown is the american way!
I used the relay (just in case)

Awesome write up. Anyone know if the honda dealer will install it for you? I'm a little short on extra time, plus I'd rather not pull apart my baby just yet.

I doubt the Honda dealer would install an illegal aftermarket headlight kit, but I could be wrong. Might have better luck at a local car accessory/pimp my ride type of shop. And don't be too afraid to pull it apart, it'll be a bonding experience. Just make sure you buy at least 5-6 of those plastic clips before you start!

How many people did not use the relay? What is the risk on 2006 Civic?

Many folks have used an direct battery connect harness and have had no problems, and those that did have problems, the issue was usually found to be the workmanship of the installation.

For a 2006 or 2007 8th generation Civic PnP HID install, the main risk is installation workmanship. The wiring is more than capable of supporting a HID kit.

My PnP install has been going strong since last fall with no problems what so ever.

Looks nice!. What was the secret to not breaking clips? Big or small screwdriver, or other tool(s)? Mine had a flicker probably 7 of the first 10 times I turned them on, but hasn't flickered since (about a week and 10 or so more times turning on). Maybe yours will stop. Was it both sides or one side? Mine only ever flickered on the passenger side. Are those stock high beams? Here's a drivers view pic of mine from a couple nights ago. Even this doesn't do justice for how bright it lights up the road in front of the car. The headlights seem to be pointing mostly down too so hopefully I'm not blinding people. When I've driven behind people at night it seems like most of the light is shining on the road or low enough that it just lights up their bumper and not their entire passenger cabin. As far as the PnP goes I e-mailed the vendor and asked them specifically what they suggested and they said with our setup we should be able to PnP. I figured I'd go that route and if I have flickering issues or other issues I'll just hook it up with a relay harness.

i didnt break any clips because i used a normal screw driver and took my time..

the clips only pull out a 1/4 of the way then you can easily remove them by pulling them out.. i've removed panels and such useing clips like these MANY times. ( you dont just pry them out, they have little slots to stick a screw driver into and release the clip)

i dont have any problems with a flicker anymore.. i think it was just in my head

and the highbeams, their silverstars. which i think i'll be replacing with those luminics yellow blubs
