I have a couple worst case scenario questions for everybody:
1 - has anybody actually fried any wiring when installing their HID kits how Orient Express shows how he did it? I'm only counting civics in on this question! 2 - if you install your setup this way and the ballast/bulbs draw enough power to blow the factory fuse, where is the fuse located that would blow (and is it easy to replace)? I'd really like to install it this way from an easiness standpoint but people make some good arguments for extra relays and DIY wiring... |

HI all, I am a newbie to the HID head lights mods. I have a 2006 civic Si coupe. I want to know if I do the low beam 9006 upgrade, my high beam will still functioning with the original hologen bulb ? On the market, ebay, etc, some dealers selling XENON H1/H3/H7/H11/HB4/9005/9006/H4 HID CONVERSION KIT. Why would someone need to go for this option instead of continue using the origial 9005 high beam ? What are the benefits for this ?
Also, are there any kits that allow to change out both high and low beams with HID bulbs? Are there any kits that will do HID bulbs in projector casing for pnp application ? Some ebay dealers sell projector lights but in Hologen bulbs. What will I miss anything if I go with projector casing with hologen, compared with HID head light only ? Many thanks in advance.. Many thanks in advance.. |

Well I attempted my install tonight. I broke about half the plastic clips in the wheel well as I tried to pull them off but finally managed to get enough broken or removed to peel it back well enough to get a view of the headlight. Managed to stab myself in the hand bad with a screwdriver and had to pause for first aid along the way though. Got the factory headlight out no problems. Tried for about an hour to get the new bulb in the housing, and eventually it just went in like magic (with wifeys help). Slapped in the ballast, got everything connected, finally ready to try it out.... Start the car up to test them before I patch everything back up, and I get no damn light! So what are the chances that 1- something is DOA, or 2 - I broke something, or 3- something is connected backwards or not firmly connected. This wasn't the easiest install unless you have triple jointed arms and are particularly good at removing impossible plastic clips that just like to bend and break. Extremely frustrated as my car sits still jacked up on one side without a wheel and without a working headlight. Waiting for my friend who actually doesn't suck at working on cars to come see if I f'd anything up. BTW I used the same kit as the OP.

Hey, cool, you're in Minnesota.
Anyway, I don't know about your kit, but my kit just had 2 prongs that went into the spot where the old bulb plugs into for power. I really couldn't tell which went into which hole, but hey, 50/50 chance anyway. If yours is like mine, your wires might be backwards and are just getting no electricity to the ballast. BTW, if this doesn't work, then your ballast/bulb might be dead. Install the other set on the other side and tell us what happens if this is the case. Last edited by Liu; 05-10-2007 at 11:04 PM. |

Yeah, those 2 prongs that go into the socket of where the original halogen bulb plugged into for power.
And no, I don't have the same kit, I have TechONE's, bought from link off of honda-tech a while ago from a company called mod-express. Anyway, no, I will not drive up there lol, especially not now, all those fishermen/women are headed your way now. Besides, tomorrow is the MNSC big Spring opener at Clifton French Regional Park in Plymouth: Minnesota - MNSC may 12th meet. |

Problem found but not corrected
Pretty sure my problem is the kits connector not wanting to plug all the way into the factory halogen headlight connection. Here's a couple of pics to back up my theory. Notice how the white clip doesn't go over the blue notch? I can't think that that is normal
![]() ![]() At least I'm getting my MTF changed in between runs at getting the lights working. Soon to give up and put the stock halogens back in for the weekend. |

MetalTark I noticed that when I had a bulb replacement, that new wiring was also attached to my new bulb. It wouldn't turn on, so I just used the old wires that came previously.
These new versions of the HID Kit does not fit contact luckyhao2@gmail.com and ask for the old wiring(one that hooks to the stock socket) |
