Fog light MOD?

i used to own a 2003 Acura TL with foglights, i hated the fact i could not turn on the foglights without turning on my headlights first.
thats until i found the MOD for it.
Now i got the 2006 civic i m running into the same problem, but this time there is no MOD yet to fix this.
So i copy the ACURA TL mod for those of you who are interested to discuss/do this mod.
Note: i havent tried this mod out yet, as soon as i get the time to do so i will. and i dont know for fact if this would work..

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is for the 02/03 TL Models.

Here is the pinout/wiring color code for the fog light switch for the 02/03 models.

I had tested the states of these wires under the following conditions:
Blue w/ Red stripe = +12V when button is pushed and headlights are on
Whie w/ Red stripe = +12V when headlights are on
Red w/ Black stripe = +12V when parking lights are on

Provided by Pianoman41

1. White/Blue - Ground side of indicator light (green light that shows fogs are on)
2. Blue/Red - Power to passenger side footwell relay
3. White/Red - Power from headlight switch
4. Red/Black - Power from taillight relay
5. Red - Connection to dash light brightness controller

Now the fog light mod has the white/red and the red/black tied together. I assume that by hooking these two together, it fakes the switch into thinking that the headlights are on so that you can turn on the fogs. NOW! What if you want the fog lights on without the parking lights on??

Would the solution be to supply the white/red wire (headlight switch) +12Vs? Possibly from a source that is HOT when the key is in the ignition?? Will the white/red wire be enough or will the red/black wire also have to be supplied 12Vs?

One more question, if that solution suggested above works, should diodes be inserted?

Just give the White/Red wire +12Vs. I gave it +12Vs from the fuse box that gets power when the key is in the ignition. It just fakes the switch into thinking that the headlights are on when the key is in the ignition. Before, the Red/Black wire is +12Vs with parking lights to illuminate the button.

I used a wire tap into the and ran a wire to this add-a-circuit (thick red wire) i had in the fuse box for the footwell lighting just to test for now. I'll find a more permanent location soon.
