e46 Projectors?

Just a few questions:

1. Will they fit?

2. What kind of shroud should be used?

Thanks in advance.

shroud covers the projector inside the headlight. Makes it look cleaner

I like the E46 shrouds, but they don't have any depth. I used to have a set until retro-solutions ate them.

Porsche projectors are bi-xenon and fairly large. It'd take lots of modification to make them fit.

E46 Shroud:

On '99-01 BMW 3-series sedans, and 2000-01 coupes and convertibles with HID headlights, they were found on the 2.5" single Xenon projector.

On '02-'04(?) 3-series models, they were the shrouds used for the 3" bi-xenon projector in use.

Both styles are chromed and have the word "Xenon" printed on them. They're highly coveted for that fact and often sell for about $100 for a clean set.

Either set will fit the TSX projector, but be mindful of which E46 shrouds and projectors you're buying if you go this route. The E46 projectors on hidplanet.com are single xenon.

retro-solutions does excellent work. I can say that they do, because my brother's Si headlights are one of the examples on their website. Maybe he'll speak up to offer some opinions on their work. That may be best saved for another thread maybe.

Hmm I heard somewhere that it was a pretty tough fit for the e46 shrouds in our headlights.

It is. The housing is barely over 3 inches tall. And that shroud is more than 3 inches tall. It requires trimming. And um, that's what they did.

I am doing 2 retros now. I can tell you the housing is not very tall. I am currently doing my own custom shrouds, because of the same fact on where the E46 shrouds have no depth, The E46 Bi-Xenon shrouds are nice and actully curve around the edges. Thats what you want when doing a retro on a Civic

Thats why customlightz uses the MDX, I dont want to use there style, So I am spending time making my own.
