Is it worth it?
I just got an HID kit, i installed it and its really bright, but i have noticed that it doesnt really light that far ahead of my car. So far i am pleased with the HID's and was just wondering if there is anythign else i can do to increase the distance of light on the road?
Also should i consider getting some Projector head lights like these ....http://cgi.ebay.ca/06-07-HONDA-CIVIC...QQcmdZViewItem i have also searched the forum on how to remove the front bumper, it looks like a real pain in the a$* , what do you guys/girls recommend? Thanks. |

I'm guessing that you purchased a PnP kit for your car. First of all, your headlights were not designed for hid's therefore the light output is not optimized. Secondly, hid projectors provide the best lighting compared to reflector types. Third, the bulbs from your PnP kit would not fit into the projector housing if you had planned on going that route. Even if it did, the beam pattern would be way off.
Removing the bumper isn't so bad. It's just lower than other honda's so you might need to jack it up to get to all the clips. |

9006 actually refers to the type of wiring harness.if you are using crappy bulbs, you might be able to get more output with some other ones, but like you said, you don't know. if you have a link to the kit you bought it would help a lot. |

Hmmm, well, the best bang for the buck IMO seems to be the PNP kit with stock light housings. Thats wierd that its not lighting far enough ahead, maybe the bulbs arent plugged in to the lights right and theyre pointing the wrong way or something, point it at a wall and check where your hot spots are, they should be somewhat centered. If thats not it, then it must just be a bad HID kit, I bought a cheap PNP kit on ebay and mine light up WAY better than the stock ones, and that includes far ahead of the car...

^^^ just looking at your setup and i have the SI, which apartently ppl have said that the drivers side light aims more into the middle of the road, and your headlights look like there are 6000K, i have the 8000K dont know if that will make a huge difference but just something i noticed/read.
thanks. |

But yeah, on my car, the drivers side light also point to the right a little bit, I think all cars do that so you dont blind oncoming traffic so much... but it should only be to right a little bit, like barely enough to notice... |
