Courtesy Light Install Help

Yesterday I began installing my Cold Cathode lights in my car.

I decided to hook them up here, as I saw in another DYI.

BIG PICTURE

Detailed Picture (tapped into pink and light blue on blue harness)

The lights however turned on when I unlocked, locked the car, and when I turned on the car. Whenever I put the car in motion though, the light turned off. (otherwise acting like dome light when on "door" notch)

So today, I decided I was going to rehook them up. I uninstalled everything and put everything back to stock. Unfortunately, my dome lights will not come on, front or rear. I checked the interior light fuses, good, checked the blue connector, good.

Idk what's going on.

CLIFFNOTES

Question 1) How do I get my lights working as stock?

Question 2) After 1 is solved, how do I have my courtesy lights stay on all the time?

(If you need more information/pictures, let me know)

Thanks,

Joey

Alright you win, give me your paypal account. lol

Ok next step, they don't stay on when I'm driving, only when I get in the car, out, etc.

This is where I already have two wires. Next step?

hook up a 3 way switch, the common pin is the grounds from the leds, the left and right are either the constant ground (ground bolt), and the controlled ground (dome light ground).

I have to have a 3 way switch? Wouldn't the switch be needed to turn the power off not on?

you want to drive with the lights on all the time? kinda rice a rific if thats the case why did you tap in to something that only comes on sometimes.. instead of running it to a power source you can turn on and off on your own. like the parkin lights or to a switch of its own?

You sir, are mistaken. The dome light power is constant... its the dome light negative that is controlled.

im not mistaken, if he wanted to have the lights come on while he is driving why hook them up to something that you have to controll that should not be controlled? when you have something as easy as a parking light source or even better to just wire them up to a new acc fuse or source and then run a switch he can turn on and off..

Hey guy.
I installed some Cold Cathode lights while back, so I know excalty what you are trying to do. for me, installed 3sets of differents cold cathode lights..

1 set of blue in front, 1 set of black light in front and 1 set of black light in the back seat. the 2 sets of blacks lights can be turned on ONLY if I turn on the headlight at night, and the blue light has three functions: 1) always on. 2)always off. and 3) works with the dorm light.
so for the blue light, whenever I unlock or open door, my blue cold cathode lights will light up. but I can turn the cathode light on even when the dorm light turns off. and finally i can turn it off so that it won't light up when the dorm lights are on.
if this is what you want to do I can help you do it. let me know.

p.s I didn't hook my lights into the harness. (theres easiler way to do it!)
