HID for reverse lights

hey,
i have a spare hid, and a spare ballast, and i wanted to use it as a reverse bulb
i got the kit for cheap, so i dont really care if they burn out because of them not being warmed up when i reverse or w.e
but i was wondering if i could possibly damage the car?
its a 35w ballast,
i was thinking i could just splice the power wires for the reverse lights into the power wires for the hid's

would this work?
would there be any damage to the car at all?
any input is appreciated thanks!

(btw, i have tints on my tail lights, so light output isnt that good, so thats the main reason y im doing it)

I suggest you don't do that. The reverse light seems powered directly by the MICU, I doubt you want to risk for the chance of firing the MICU.
If you really really want to do HID on reverse light, at least use a relay harness for that. But is it really worth to wait more than 20s for the HID to get bright before backup everytime?

you're better off selling the stuff you have used and putting that toward an LED reverse light.

i too want more light output when i back up. I looked into LEDs but the good ones are a lil pricey.

was thinking that someone should use that remote license plate relocator thing and add a bar of leds to it and have it come down on the back and shine light when in reverse and it hides itself when no backing up

HID reverse tail lights??! WTF is the point? Your life span of the bulbs won't be very long because chances are the bulbs won't stay on long enough to heat up ect...the idea is just stupid. Try led's....
